i still have my phat ds, it was a present from my girlfriend , so it holds sentimental value that no other device could give me.

This article does have some good points. Like not being able to play GBA games that I will never get tired of like Fire emblem really makes it a bad upgrade for me.

It is definitely worth the upgrade, trust me.

I got my DSi as an impulse buy, and gave my DSLite to my mum with a copy of Brain Training. I'm very happy with it, just waiting for some good downloads to come along that I can use my 1000 free points on.
Also keeping my fingers crossed for Virtual Console to become accessible on both Wii and DSi... Wishful thinking, I know, but I just can't help it.

egad when will these articles ever stop. The DS is not a GBA, it not the next iteration of the GBA. Even Miyamoto was surprised when the designers stuck the GBA in the machine. If you don't value bigger screen, higher cpu, Downloadable apps, media player don't buy it. The DSi IS NOT AN UPGRADE for the DS Lite consumer. The DSi is to appeal to the distant consumer who did not buy a DS Lite because of what it was. That's why their is emphasis on Media play, camera and applications rather than classic purchased games.

These last few years have really shown me the lack of smarts humanity has in regards to human behavior. Maybe because it's most people are concerned about themselves and if your not like them you are a freak mentality. Like whoever wrote this MSNBC BS article.

If Nintendo announce online GBA title distribution for the DSi... its all bets off, and I'll *have* to get one. That would be killer-app x 1000.

I saw the article, and it was written by Blake Snow. I remember him, he write (or wrote) articles for Gamepro.com, and he always seems to be (IMO) very pro Sony.

i got the DSi and I think it's awesome. 170 is salty IMO, but it's still super awesome. I could care less it doesn't play gba.....i already have two other DS that do that. Online features are sweet and the sound is tons better on the DSi
