NPD stated that the 360 had the longest play time in 2008. The Wii came in second and the PS3 came dead (Even after the PS2) last for console use. Technically this news from Nintendo is irrelevant.

How does US statistical data make Japanese statistical data irrelevant?

Oh it was Japanese? I retract that then. Wii Wins!

Well, 360 owners need to play 8 times more just to tie console use. And we all know how busy japanise people are.

Thats not even what matters. The major problem is Japanese nationalism as to why the 360 doesn't sell more and isn't played enough on average. If they have a Japanese product which provides a similar experience to an outside competitor they mostly will refuse to purchase it. When he told me the statistics were exclusively to Japan then I halted my argument, because it's entirely stupid to argue the Wii's dominance.

are you trying to say 360 is not selling in japan because of nationalisam?

Yes. When the PS3 price drops, the sales will have a boom. Mark my words. The only reason the 360 even sold a million in Japan was because they the majority of the JRPG's.

Sorry about the title of the thread (it was the title of the article) but the research indicates that there are less users on the 360 than on the Wii per household. What do you think of the research? Is it biased? Does it amount to anything relevant? Discuss more here.

Just because the article you copied has no journalistic integrity, doesn't mean you have to abandon yours. Either give the thread a title that accurately reflects what Nintendo said, or make it apparent that you are relating what some random on the net said, not a ninty exec.

I had journalistic credit??

Explanation of sig:

I am a Pakistani.....my name is Dan....how hard is that? (Don't ask about the 101...apparantely there are more of me out there....)

This one shows household user counts separated by platforms. Wii leads the way with 3.4 users per household. Xbox 360 lags with just 1.5.

Garnett:But dont 360 games buy more games than Wii gamers? So that 1.5  360 owners buy  more games than the 3.4 Wii owners..

Yeah, I've noticed most of your posts are pretty decent. Although Last I saw you were under 100 posts. Been procrastinating lately??

I think I was mentioning data like this last year. If you just understand social behavior of the age range that the 360 and PS3 apply to. Then this 360 and lesser extent PS3 are for solo oriented gaming.

The 16-28 demographic are on average testosterone competitive males. This is does not breed togetherness, but instead a drive to do things by themselves. This tends to lead less sharing and trying to get others together. There are however exceptions ranging from people to culture and society.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

I play my 360 all day and night by myself in my basement ;) .... my parent's basement.
