Sorry if already posted.

Brandz (Financial Times) have released their annual brands top 100.

If you read the gaming part they find the Wii brand value at 8.256bn. 360 at 4.481bn and the PS3 at just 341m Ouch!

Interesting report

Awesome.

Stop getting so excited about a Kid Icarus remake... the original NES Icarus sucked.

WOW at Wii but expected, expected though for all three brands.

Not bothered reading it but does it say what the entire Playstation brand is worth?

Just had a look and WOW, Playstation brand is very weak. :/

From the Article:

"The leading players in the home console
market are the Nintendo Wii, the Microsoft
Xbox 360, and the Sony PlayStation 3, with
total sales of 34.5 million units, 28 million
units, and 20 million units, respectively."

"The category’s leading brand, Nintendo DS,
with about 34 million units sold
, is a handheld
console. While it can be played at home,
its main advantage is its portability.
"

Nice research.  Only off by 200% on the DS

Think they mean in america with the DS. Which would be right.

But you would have to email them and find out. Their numbers are as acurate as you will ever get as they use the "Datamonitor" model. Basically anything that has ever been written down in company reports, financial projections and anything that links a company to its revenue, spendings etc. it all goes in there.

1 Nintendo DS              9,659
2 Nintendo Wii              8,256
3 Microsoft Xbox 360    4,581
4 Sony PlayStation 3    341
5 Microsoft Xbox           313
6 Nintendo Game Boy   222
7 Sony PSP                   144
8 Sony PlayStation 2    119
9 Nintendo GameCube 96

it also has the xbox at a higher brand value than ps2, how does that work?

"Kinect" Games I am really excited about (Click for videos)

Kinectimals        Dance Central      Kinect-Sports   Kinect-Adventures    Your Shape       Kinect-Forza

Owner of :   slim 1000 +  80GB DSlite

Yeah not sure quite what these numbers represent (would have thought $$$ wise), Xbox higher brand value than PS2 makes no sense $$$ wise. There is a funny going on or an explanation would be nice.

Go Nintend-O!!

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

If that's the case, they should have mentionned it because going from worldwide sales for consoles to American sales for the DS makes things confusing.

Signature goes here!

dont think i'm a fanboy, but i think they got the playstation brand wrong, i think its still worth much more than that
