I got those achievements on a full (or nearly full) 24 person server.

I wonder...couldn't you just join a 2 man server with a friend and do nothing...thus getting the achievements? Like...stand still and get 25 headshots...etc?

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Are you guys still playing? I'm about to buy the game :)... I gave up on my journey (@eBay) for a new modelling processor... I just can't buy auctions :(

Of course I'm "still" playing.  This game has distracted me from completing Metroid, Super Paper Mario, and Company of Heroes which I just bought.  I play it almost every night...it's so addicting.

It's interesting to play during the beta too, because they do minor tweaks now and then, and you can really see how such little tweaks change the flow of the game.

On the ammo thing, I don't think the sapper is too powerful either. I think the infinite ammo plus instant re-use is a bit much when you consider a situation where there are tons of engineers in one small spot which happens quite often on certain maps. You seem to be pointing to this one on one scenario again but I want to make it clear that I think one on one the spy should be able to cause havoc. And like I said if the spies die easily in your games it wouldn't really change anything. I just don't think a single spy should be able to sap 20 buildings in 3 or 4 seconds like he can right now.

But I don't see why not.  If there are really 20 buildings that close together, then there are at least 5 Engineers who built them.  Most likely, they can own the Spy's face before he even finishes sapping and very easily repair all their buildings.

I think the Pyro is fine the way he is now.  He needed just that extra little bit of range, and now he's perfect.

I didn't like what they did to the Demoman at first, but I've found it hasn't really crimped my style much.  I use stickies to take out far-away sentries now, and I think it works even better than bouncing the grenades used to work.

I joined a server that had a 5 minute setup time - and we were on offense. They must of had 7 or so fully upgraded turrets right outside our door when it opened. After a few minutes of frustration trying to use ubered heavies, I and some others suggested we use lots o spies - so half of our 16 man team turned into spies - and all the turrets, teleporters and dispensers were gone in no time :D

We still lost though :(

The orange box is going to be 37.99 at circuit city for its release. Just a heads up to anyone that hasn't purchased the game yet.

Wow, and $59.99 for the 360. Ouch.  Makes me feel a little better about the extremely late, poor-performing, and expensive Halo and Halo 2 ports for the PC.

Definitely a good thing for PC gamers...PC games are always cheaper at the start, and get cheaper very fast.

Circuit City is just insane though. They had Bioshock on day 1 for $40 instead of $50, or $60 for the 360 version.

Being the cheap person I am, I definitely got it at Circuit City (also because I had $70 store credit to burn through). So I get crappy DRM and inability to download wherever I want through Steam...but eh, it's just one game.

Paying $45 through Steam is better than $37.99 retail for Orange Box for me though, because it meant playing the beta for TF2 right away...

Wow, I just realized we are a week away from actual launch...I am really psyched up for Portal and Episode 2!

I hope they will last me through until SMG...and once SMG hits we will be right in the midst of gamer heaven and all will be right with the world!

PS - Has anyone else noticed that the flame animation for the pyro doesn't cover the entire area it actually hits? There is like 3 or 4 feet of extra "set on fire" range to the end of the flame. It can be annoying when you're trying to strafe around them with a scout or such because its really hard to gauge the distance you need to be away from them.

I'll get to play Obi-wan's Half Life 2 and Ep:1 soon. Yippee skippee!

I think you will enjoy the game quite a bit, and you will be surprised how good HL2 looks for a 2004 game.
