Ok, people, possibly only a few hours until the beta for Team Fortress 2 is released! (unless they go for evening tomorrow night...which they do sometimes)
For those of you that don't know, you can pre-purchase The Orange Box on Steam for PC for $45. The Orange Box includes Half Life 2 (indisputably one of the best FPSs of all time), Half Life 2: Episode 1 (the continuation of said greatest FPS of all time, very fun), Half Life 2: Episode 2 (the new continuation, it will be epic of course), Team Fortress 2 (One of the most balanced, intense multiplayer games out there...with a new stylish design), and Portal (a mind-bending FP...S? based around shooting portals to navigate through a puzzle). Also you get Peggle Extreme, a little downloadable game with Valve game themes...pretty fun for a throw-in.
All that for $45 when you download it before October 10, PLUS you get access to the TF2 beta which starts...very soon. This game is going to be great fun, and you can't beat that price. And of course this is Steam, and for those who don't understand what it is, it's a service that allows you to access your purchased games from anywhere with internet access...eliminating the need for hard copies...but you have the option of buying retail games and using Steam still anyway...and you can burn copies of your Steam downloaded games for storage if you so wish. It's a great way to get in and game quickly...and it rocks.
Anyway, now that I've pitched the games...this thread is for the TF2 players or potential players.
Steam Community has launched, and it's a great way to see other players, organize games, join groups, chat, set dates for events, etc. Apparently the TF2 Beta starts at 2 am...whether or not that's a definite time, I'm not sure...but that's what the event says. So you can check your SmashBros.com update and then get in TF2!
This thread would be a great place for Steam gamers to trade names, so anybody that wants to add me can...my name is BenKenobi88 of course. I have HL2: DM, DoD: Source, CS: Source, Garry's Mod, Call of Duty 2...a few more, but those are the ones I play usually.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release. (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

but I added you anyway.
