IMO the guy is not lying

Even if the PS4 of XBOX720 is released, the current-generation market will live on for a some years.

So financialy, they might achieve it (good for them)... problem is that people like us don't care because we will be busy on something else by then...

This might also be a message to people involved around the brand: "We won't win but we won't give up".

Sony, and Microsoft are all working to make their console the dominant console. Of course they would say that.

Pocket netbooks already are at PS2 levels and ones with nvidia card probably already outmatch Wii - somehow it doesn't stop either console from still selling.

Its more saying how obsolete the technology is.

I really cant believe that some fellas at Sony still believe in domination this gen. Its quite sad really

As it stands the Xbox 360 is beating PS3 in America and Others week in, week out.  But the gap is closing every week.  Only in Japan is the PS3 dominant by out-selling the 360 by about 15,000 units a week, but is offset by NA/others.

To be dominant the PS3 will need to start out-selling the 360 by at least 30,000 a week worldwide.  But im sure that microsoft (being microsoft) will keep the 360 going as long as it keeps selling (just to out do Sony).
