WRONG! Microsoft is selling plenty of 360s and with some game announcements, new major LIVE features and price cuts, it will sell even more. 2010 at the EARLIEST for a new Xbox.

generations last a whole lot longer than 4-5 years. MS has to wait at least 2 more years before throwing out a new system. no breakign tradition -.-

what price would you cut the price to? it's already cheaper than psp and with some 40 dollars reduction, it's even cheaper than ds lite, sometimes in the year.

more price cuts would put the arcade at the price of the ps2. what next? a 360 offered with every game?  sometimes, you can't ask something anymore.

And perhaps economic crisis will slow it, what firm that has to reduce cost and make money can do a "ps3-like" r&d research while there is a crisis?

Also, ps2 is still selling, so why would leaders of this gen (meaning 360 and wii, in HD and ... i won't say it) change consoles when they are winning?

You know, genesis was there first because sega was losing against nes, same way with ps1 and saturn over N64 (snes was a beast, still releasing game in japan in 1996), dreamcast was released before ps2, microsoft was new and nintendo was changing game's support on their console. microsoft was losing and so was nintendo, they both released wii and 360 before ps3 (while not in NA and japan for wii).

I can't see a new xbox this year, it'll at least be a year from now that they would announce it probably longer but it all depends on sales, plus they have no reason to react in such a way since sales are fine. Personally I think that unless their sales tank I can't see them releasing a new xbox before 2011.

I view him as being just as wrong as the guy who said the PS3 would be discontinued this year. None of the consoles are going to be canceled or outdated anytime soon. People saying such things are usually just latching onto a few signs because they want it to happen, not because it is likely.

Like HaloGamer1989 said, add-ons are a possibility, like a media device/internet browser device (playTV style) add-on, with perhaps a blu-ray player.

a whole new console would just be sheer lunacy at this stage imo, and would cripple current sales and kill consumer confidance in the brand in one fell swoop.
An X360 slim is not totally out of the question though.
