Forums - Microsoft - Splinter Cell Conviction Set for this Holiday

Microsoft's Stealth Series is coming for the holiday season. was this series big before?

Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

yay I enjoyed the last one

I'm hoping for some revamped controls. Splinter Cell is a fun, but complicated series.

Have their been any screenshots or trailers released for this, I really enjoyed the previous games on PS2 and was interested in this game?

Its had pretty good sales, the last game was a million seller on 360.

Also, the game could end up going to PS3, every other game in the franchise was on a SONY console... unless i missed some deal.

The game was basically announced a very long time ago, MS got exclusivity then. It remains now, rest assured if Ubisoft haf the choice this would be a multi-plat title however as I said an agreement was met years ago.

How could any Splintercell fans be happy about this (disclaimer: Yes, I am a PS3 owner and know about it's exclusivity) =( ?

Unless they completely revamped the entire game since the gameplay video they showed at 2007(?) then this should be a HUGE disappointment to Splinter Cell fans.

I mean WTF? I DIDN'T LIKE ASSASSIN'S CREED. Whatever hype they established for their "crowd stealth" during AC's launch is gone now, there's no reason to showcase it anymore.

I'm not denying it's potential to be good and appeal to some people. But even though it has the same name, it is NOT Splinter Cell. It has become a cheap rip off of Assassin's Creed with a Bourne type story/game. There's no shadow stealth. No emphasis on staying out of sight. No goggles. No old age (they pushed Sam's age to 40 something).

Chaos Theory was the peak of the franchise. Great graphics, multiple paths to take on a mission. Great, Tom Clancy-esque Technothriller story. An awesome character that truly was an anti-hero (he was nearing 60 years old in the 3'rd game if my memory was correct) with limitations.

Even if you like Assassin's Creed, even if Splinter Cell fans come to like this game, it is NOT the same game as the past 4 games (4th was pretty mediocre though =( ). The GAMEPLAY is completely different. Not evolved. Not tweaked, improved, but completely SCRAPPED and REPLACED.

Ubisoft ushered in so many great games last gen =( I bought and returned 2 games (DA and AC) and I'm only keeping Far Cry 2 because I paid 40 bucks for it, and now it's worth 20-10ish =/

Love Splinter Cell!!!

awesome.
