... is one of the many assumptions of Gerald from Gamespy :

"Microsoft is gearing up for a big presence at E3 which will completely transform how people think about home entertainment," says Mattrick. "We're excited about the momentum that is building in the industry in anticipation of our June 1st media briefing, which will kick off E3 in blockbuster style.""

There's no better way to celebrate such a vague announcement than with outlandish and completely baseless speculation. Let's throw some crazy ideas out there and see if any stick. Possible headlines coming out of this briefing include:

"Microsoft Unveils Adults-Only channel." This seedy section of Xbox Live specializes in M-rated games and adult-oriented video content. Sadly, Microsoft then censors this content, which turns Xbox Live 21+ into a joke.

"Microsoft and Netflix Partner to Provide Full Catalog on Xbox Live." MS puts up the money and technology necessary to stream HD-quality video of Netflix's entire DVD catalog, and Microsoft wins this generation outright. Please, please, please happen.

"Microsoft Announces Partnership with Sony." Future Xbox 360 hardware will come equipped with a Blu-ray drive, and in exchange Sony gets an online gaming platform that actually works. It'll never happen.

"Xbox Live Arcade Comes to Zune." What's a Zune, you ask? Well you see, a long time ago..."

"Microsoft Unveils Adults-Only channel." And downloading lesbian videos will result in a ban of your XBox Live account

"Microsoft and Netflix Partner to Provide Full Catalog on Xbox Live." Sounds cool

"Microsoft Announces Partnership with Sony." This will never happen but I'd love to see the reaction of fanboys over this.

"Xbox Live Arcade Comes to Zune." Making 40 people very happy.

I believe the porn offer is a serious assumption and very plausible...

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

eh? your whole title is truly misleading. I cannot understand where Microsoft announces partnership with Sony the whole topic. Obviously its a rumor, so this should of been titled "Funny Microsoft E3 rumors".

Was this an attempt to make PSN look bad??

Because I've been playing CoD4, Socom, LBP, CoD5, Burnout Paradise, Tekken5, and even Crash Commando online for quite sometime on PSN. Didn't cost me any subscription either.

Get this crap out of here

Too bad this wouldn't be true. If Microsoft and Sony teamed up my world would be complete. It would be awesome to get rid of half the fanboys with a single Microsoft/Sony console.

It is not even a rumor, it is a joke from awriter at Gamespy speculating on the E3

That is why the title is under quotation marks.

sonys online platform works. I wouldn't trade with live for a second. The average quality of games is much higher, not to mention the dedicated servers.

nah, i'd say the service is almost indistinguishable aside from the being free part.  when i play online with the ps3, it feels exactly like xbox live.  i can't honestly find any real difference in quality and i've tried.

So if it was such a joke then why is the title a joke? Makes absolutely no sense. When people come into this thread they are going to assume he is flame baiting or presenting false material.

PSN works great, Live is still better, but the gap is not nearly as big as it was in 2006 or even last year for that matter.
