Even Maya must get her own game before another one of the annoying Apollo.

Why does everybody hate Apollo? :(

He was bland and boring, and lacked any real character or story. Plus, his entry required that Phoenix's story take a completely unbelievable (and very idiotic) turn. Moreover, the game he starred in purposely took a path that's inferior to the Phoenix games; the brief segment in Apollo Justice where you play as Phoenix in his heyday was a refreshing breath of fresh air because it brought back the old humor, which Apollo severely lacks.

I think he asked about the character, not the game. And there is a difference.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Enough answers already... Shame that Capcom decided to "kill" Phoenix Wright and rise "that".

And I responded in kind. The game is weaker because the character is weaker. That's why I included the spoilered portion. Admittedly, I didn't make that as clear as I should have, but because the character wasn't up to par, the rest of the game seriously suffered.

No, you named things other than the character. Apollo being bland did not make Wright go through that. It was a whole bad package, but you're acting as though Apollo magically made the whole thing that way himself.

Again, I guess I didn't make myself clear. Yes, I named things other than character in the first post. Those were tossed in to reinforce my point that Apollo was the reason that the fourth game was weaker than the others: in the portion of Apollo's game where you don't play as Apollo, the game feels stronger. Funnier. Better. It's the same game, with the same writers, and even part of the same plot, but things are better without Apollo.

Moreover, the way the writers inserted Apollo into the storyline led to the twist to which I am referring. I count that as a strike against him. If you don't, then fine: I really don't know why you're harping on about this, and I don't much care either. Get in the last word, 'cause I'm moving on with my life.

"Phoenix's story take a completely unbelievable (and very idiotic) turn"

Apollo didn't make Wright do what happened. The writers did.

Yes, they did, because thay wanted to make Apollo the lead.

In my honest opinion, I would be happy if Apollo was relegated to a non-playable main character such as Maya or Trucy.
