Forums - Sony - Brought a PS3 last Month Blew my 360 out the water!!!

Gears of War was released in 2006 so that maybe why I cannot recall them going head to head.

Also I wouldn't bother with Resistance, number one in particular is hopelessly average and isn't even that pretty. The second game is a bit like marmite it appears but I didn't buy it so I cannot recommend or warn away from it.

The post above about media bias is garbage, it's more a case of the user is incapable of being unbiased enough to see a games faults which is why he would award inflated scores to PS3 exclusives. The reviewer I trust gave 8/10 for Unchartered which is a damn good score for the game, perhaps it would stretch higher for those that enjoy replaying the game over and over but for the average punter playing through it once the score seemed fine to me. Unchartered 2 is my most anticipated game for the PS3 this year and I'm hoping it's at least as good story wise as the original.

This plant sure is snorting  some good fertilizer.

I thought Uncharted was pretty much universally lauded as a great game? I bought and played through it and it was decent. A bit short for $60, but fun non the less.

whatever dude. You can't tell me that most PS3 games are rated "unreasonably" low compared to 360 games where the quality could be just about the same. Take Geometry wars for instance. It has a 90% meta rating and SuperStardust doesnt. They are practically the same game. WTF? Uncharted is the shining example. THe game is at least a 9, yet I've seen some pretty low scores for it. Everyone that I know that has played it, loved it, yet it does not have a AAA score like it deserves. And a game like Heavenly Sword definitely deserved more then a 79. That is at least a 83. PS3 titles seemingly had to go above and beyond in order to be considered AAA, if they rehashed anything they would be marked down 10points.

And have you not seen the marked up videos from GameTrailers? You know, where they make the 360 versions of everygame look better then the PS3's. As well as the ranting "video editor" from GT talking about how inferior the PS3 is.

Or the outlandish KZ2 reviews with terribly written reviews trying to bring down the game's popularity. THe KZ2 reviews that changed their story when people found out that some of their information on the game was a complete lie.

THe constant R2 comparisons to GeoW2 in R2 reviews. THe constant complaining about them taking out the weapon wheel even though when R1 was reviewed the same reviewers wanted it gone and marked it down for it. R2 suffered massive nitpicking while GeoW2 was never pestered about it's broken online upon its release.

The list goes on, the proof is there, you are just in denial...

I think you should read that last sentence and consider it for yourself.  You whinged so much about scores in that rant you completely ignored many of the perfectly valid points reviewers have in rating a game.  Most of the reviewers I trust rated KZ2 a 9, thats a very good score, the game simply isn't 10 material in my or many other peoples eyes.  Resistance 2 has been slated by people who enjoyed the first game, that's not a good sign for a AAA game.

Unchartered when it was released was rated between 8 and 9 by most places I read, it's a fair score for a single player only game that did have repetitiveness issues.  The experience of Unchartered was stunning while it lasted, it just didn't last long enough for reviewers to give it that extra step.

Finally if you seriously believe Heavenly Sword deserved above 80% then you're having a laugh.  The game was very short, showed little innovation and it's defining moments were a fun story and wonderful graphics at the time.  I bought HS and enjoyed the whole 8 or so hours it lasted but it's not a AAA game by any stretch of the imagination.  *EDIT* Having read your profile and seeing you have listed it as a favourite game I can understand why you personally have such an issue but I honestly believe the score was fair.  Gears 2 has had over 100 hours of my time so for me the game is a 10/10 but I have no issues with the 9/10 scores it got because the flaws it did have meant they were fair reviews.

By the way how many supposedly outlandish reviews of KZ2 did you read, there was only the Edge's 7 that was a mainstream site and their criticisms were fair although the score could have been perhaps one higher on the written text if thats all you're worried about from a review.  I couldn't comment on Superstardust as I've not played it or indeed Geometry Wars enough to rate either game, also it's not one of my more favoured genre's.

If one site constantly rigged videos to show the PS3 version as being worse then I could accept that site is biased when multiple sites do it then I take that as fact, especially when combined with my own eyes.  Why do I think everything on SDF is a complete joke, because they're opinion is never verified by other mainstream sites.  If you want to delude yourself with this bias rubbish then I'll leave you to it, I find it strange how something so obviously underhand has not warranted any attention from Sony themselves
