I find it funny how the Wii is only selling because of Wii Sports, but when it comes to software sales, we shouldn't count Wii Sports because it is just a free giveaway that comes along with the Wii, and people wouldn't buy it otherwise.

Great how they understand the industry.

At a price tag of 200-500 USD, no one sees consoles as a big investment, so people dont sit down and analyze options as they would with a house or a car. They just go to the store and buy what they like without thinking too much.

But Sony should know, they are in that business since forever.

The thing is that it isn't free, we actually pay for it but alot of people like to ignore it.

So if Wii owners are only buying the Wii for Wii Sports, then they must be buying the 360 and PS3 for...what? Considering there are another three games that have outsold every game on the other two consoles, if those other Nintendo titles don't count then neither does anything else on the HD consoles. On top of that, Smash Bros. is trending evenly with Halo 3, even with a significantly smaller opening, so there are good odds it'll be the fourth title, and Wii Sports Resort the fifth. Yup, Wii owners just got the console for Wii Sports alright.

That article is funny. Agreed the console is only the medium. It's the software people want. I have no idea what's going on in people minds today, but one thing is clear. The media is showing it's distinct lack of understanding the people.



Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

 Lol - nice retort! Critics of the wii can't have it both ways. That must make wii sports one heck of an amazing game considering how much more expensive it is than every other game on the market.
