lol, how can you possibly think this... .did Microsoft quit after their failure that was the Xbox? Why would Sony quit with a console that did better.

You really think the OP was expecting people to not get riled up over this? Did he really think that the question was realistic, and would start a meaningful discussion, rather than a flame war? This website is one the less fanboyish sites, and threads like these, especially when they're on the front page tarnish VG Chartz and its community.

But he obviously believes what he's saying. I don't agree with him nor do most other people but he's still entitled to his own opinion...no matter how controversial it is.

 

 

 Well when i posted threads which were made by some1 else....n if ms fanboys disagreed with it they would always say that im trolling!!!recently i posted a thread abt the most overrated characters by ign and an ms fanboy said i was trolling coz there were master chief and fenix in that list!

Thats neither here nor there....The point is he's entitled to his own opinion and so were you on that, you can argue with someone you disagree with but don't be callin them a troll just because you don't agree with them.

I admit i've called people that i disagree with trolls, and i realize how wrong that is, after all no one is perfect.

But if you call people trolls for having a different opinion then your an advocat of taking away free speech.  And thats not right.

The Xbox wasn't a failure..... technology-wise when it was far more superior in power to the PS2. In addition, it came in second place. What made the Xbox suck was the lack of games. It's not Microsoft's fault Sony acquired 90% of third parties on their side during Microsofts first go. Microsoft made them eat it this gen by taking the most popular 3rd party games on their system. If Microsoft can pump out some good first and second party this gen while keeping third party coming in, they will have a very good fanbase for next gen.

I'm sure that if Sony has the money and time to make another console, along with faith that the brand is still strong enough, that they will make another console. Nintendo won this generation after "losing" last gen. Xbox beat PS this generation. Why the double standard? Compared to last gen, PS3 isn't losing as badly as the other 2 consoles, and they're selling well in Japan, neck to neck in Europe.

We have no idea what will happen next gen, so there should be no reason to doubt that the PS brand won't "win" next gen. As for whether or not Sony's execs have confidence in the PS brand anymore, why are they continually making new IPs, adding so many features, and being so competitive? That doesn't seem like an attempt to milk a console for some cheap $.

But you've been making a lot of blatant anti PS threads recently so it's hard not to...  in general there's really a lot of bad anti-PS3 threads. Can't someone just make really pro-Xbox/Wii threads in their respective forums instead of going into the competition's boards to troll them?

It had potential just like the PS3 does. The only reason the PS3 has different results is Sony managed to hold onto a couple more third party companies and have a loyal fanbase.

I find it insaulting that your comparing PS3 to the origional xbox, it took xbox 5 years to sell 24 million ps3 has only been selling for 3 years, and in europe its only been selling 2 years and has generated nearly 22 million ,exactly sony managed to get hold of not a couple but a lot of good games , and the origonal xbox didnt it failed end of
