one of the funnest "difficult" games ive played.  sadly i havent beaten it.  i fought old king doran and beat him, but his armor overburdened and i didnt realize if i left the world his armor and demonbrandt would be gone.  i also didnt realize the souls from the bosses could be used to upgrade weapons and learn spells and miracles.  so i recently started from the beginning cuz i kinda couldnt get past 4-2.  hopefully this time i wont lose so many souls so ill be at a higher level.

He who hesitates is lost

Hi. I got this game 2 weeks ago and only defeated the first boss. Now I am stuck because a lady tells me the "monumental awaits thee, awaits thee above" and my english is not good enough to know what does this mean?

I went out to fight and died and lost all souls I won by defeating the boss. There's a bridge a dragon comes and burns me with fire with 1 hit. Can anyone point me a good guide or just offer any advice?

Hey Sensei: the Monumental is a seated, Buddha-like female statue. There are a lot of them in the upper levels of the Nexus, the one you want to talk to has a lit candle next to her.

The dragon you're referring to is the one at the bridge at the beginning of world 1-2. In order to get past it you have to wait until it swoops down and then sprint across behind it as quickly as you can, but I would recommend doing world 2-1 first since it is easier.

http://demonssouls.wikidot.com/ is probably what you're looking for as far as help is concerned.

What is your language, BTW?

Oh thank God i found you thread! I started  my own thread with a question about Demon Souls, but it has no replays so i hope someone is still reading this thread. I would like to know if Europan (german, to be more precise) version of the game is in ANY WAY cutted or dumbed down. That includes less blood (or no blood at all), cutted cut scenes, quests removed, DLCs banned, mature language removed, dumbed down graphics ANYTING AT ALL. If there is something, please let me know, because i dont wanna repeat the same mistake i did with fallout 3 when i bought dumbed down german version. Thanks :)

Not sure I have the version sent to the states, but I haven't heard of anything being dumbed down or changed in any other version. As far as DLC is concerned there isn't any. You guys might have different things going on with the servers as they are regionnally different, but I think the games are virtually the same.

I'm not martin luther king. I don't have a dream. I have a plan

Sell a man a fish you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish you just ruined a perfect business opportunity.

We didn't emerge out of the stone age because we ran out of stones. Its time to be proactive not reactive.

hmmm...your probably right, i dont know if i should buy red dead redemption or DS, very tough choice :(

yes indeed both r really good games... but personnal I feel like demon souls is a game you must play this gen and offers something different then whats already out there. RDR is very good but very similar to the feel of GTA, however the online is outstanding.

I heard DS is incredibly hard, and since im a RPG noob (i only played 1 RPG in my life, and thatis fallout 3) im probably gonna have though time playing DS...

Well, Demon's Souls is really, really hard.

I was going to temper that with a "but it's not so bad" statement, but thought better of it. It's really hard. If you can beat Demon's Souls you can beat any game on the market.

And you CAN beat Demon's Souls. But you're going to have to do a lot of research and be extremely persistent.
