When I was playing, I did several "herb runs" through 1-2 and 1-3. Soldiers drop them often, and knights always.

alright so i have another question, i am level 131 right now and am having some trouble in NG+, i think i have got the hang of it though, buuttt, what lvl should i be for NG++?

There isn't a significative difficulty spike from NG+ to NG++, since the difficulty only increases 8% with each subsequent NG+, unlike the 100% difficulty spike from NG to NG+.

131 is a good SL to go to NG++, I was at SL 134 when I was almost finishing NG+, and I was almost indestructible (Also because I could don Heavy Armour and still run and dodge like I had light armour).

To be able to play as the boss in 3-3, you'll need to be online and have finished that boss yourself. Plus, you'll also need to be in Soul Form, so you'll have a chance at being summoned as the boss.

I would prefer you said me : start of the world 4 to be a bit less precise and spoil a bit less my experience (lol)

- I ALREADY have fought as the monk boss, I was in 3-1, just before the idol boss door (and idol still not killed). I decided to try to be BP since I just got the black eyed stone, and, when I used it, I was summoned by the monk boss itself 2 times.

that is why I wanted to know what where the exact conditions to be summoned by the boss ... 

Note : when you are BP, do you lose soul when you are defeated ? half of them if killed by the player ? also, the manual said you also lose a soul level if killed by the environnement ? is it true ? if yes, then fuck me lol !!

so my friend bought demon souls for me in the states and i got it today.

I played trough the opening level before i reach some giant thing that smashed me to bits:P And some guy tells me to touch some stone. So i am in the castle wandering about, am i supposed to complete the whole level without dying:P and what do i do with the souls i have:P `?

Really enjoy this game so far:) Great gameplay and atmosphere:P, but i read some message lying outside a door telling beginners to keep out, i thought you were supposed to complete the whole level so i went in and died:P

It worked. Reloading tha game, I was in the area before the vendor in 2-2.

Now I did 3 upgraded weapons (with Demons Souls). I need one chunk of Harpstone to do one more but I cant seem to get it. Farming is annoying sometimes.

I think Im gonna upgrade a few weapons then do Mephistopholes missions then I will finish my first playthrough.

You have to kill the boss to be able to move on to the next stage which doesn't necessarily mean having to complete everything in the level first time round. If you die then yes you restart from the begining of the level but most of the stages have various shortcuts which can be opened as you go meaning that you wont have to redo the entire level all the time.

You spend your souls on repairing/upgrading weapons and buying stat increases and spells but I don't think you can do that until you have killed the boss in 1-1 and then returned to the nexus.

thanks....and what armor? you think i could roll with brushwood armor if i get my equip burden high enough? or is it not possible?

you can spend you soul back on the nexus before killing the 1-1 boss :

- use the ring on your inventory even if you will also lose all your soul ...

- fo back to the archstone (starting point), click on X and then choose "go back to nexus"

I did this on 1-1 to get some herb etc ...

And guess what ?

(1-1 SPOILERs)

- I did get a lot of items for healing

- I discovered a new "path" because I thought a shining item on the ground
I jumped, took the item and realized I was not alone. I was preparing to fight when I realized the guy was an ally
I talked to him, helped him and get an item
exploring further (for herb) I get some item (shining ones on the ground) and I disvoer an area that I missed with 2 dragon (healthy red and sick blue). I was able to avoid red flame but I didnt know how to interact with them (interact = kill them lol). I dont wanted to lose 1 hour to fire arrow on them ... so I left. I got a key to open the door behind the "harsh red eyes guy" and meet the King. Since he was clearly stronger I runned away ...

- I started 4-1 and got my talisman  ;)
