When I was playing, I did several "herb runs" through 1-2 and 1-3. Soldiers drop them often, and knights always.

I did this on 1-1 to get some herb etc ...

And guess what ?

(1-1 SPOILERs)

- I did get a lot of items for healing

- I discovered a new "path" because I thought a shining item on the ground
I jumped, took the item and realized I was not alone. I was preparing to fight when I realized the guy was an ally
I talked to him, helped him and get an item
exploring further (for herb) I get some item (shining ones on the ground) and I disvoer an area that I missed with 2 dragon (healthy red and sick blue). I was able to avoid red flame but I didnt know how to interact with them (interact = kill them lol). I dont wanted to lose 1 hour to fire arrow on them ... so I left. I got a key to open the door behind the "harsh red eyes guy" and meet the King. Since he was clearly stronger I runned away ...

- I started 4-1 and got my talisman  ;)
