“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

WHO is asking the US officials to confirm that the flu can spread from human to human, if so, they will raise the alert level to level 5. Many people could start getting hit around the world if it does.

That's weird, I thought level 4 already meant it's spreading from human to human (which has been happening according to many reports):

You all will be fine. Its already in Texas. I'm not at all worried. I'm no swine. Ain't gonna do shit to em.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

I think the WHO is asking for confirmation of human-human spread in New York because if that is confirmed it will be level 5 rather than level 4.

Things such as viruses are nurmally categorised by thier surface antigens that are present on them.

So a viruses classified as H1N1 could have many separate virus classes within it. H stands for hemagluttanin and N stands for neraminidase.

The only reason the media classifes them this way is because by and large, these classifications are the targets for individual antiviral treatments.

The individual contents of the DNA splicing enzymes have to be taken into account in terms of reproduction and virulence as well.

People should also bear in mind that normal flu is DEADLY also, these mexican clinicians probably dont know jack shit about the virus death toll.

So do not listen to thier death counts yet, just wait for a comprehensive report from the WHO as soon as it comes out.

Saying that recognising the threat as level four is probably necessary at this stage.

Oh I just got itt off Reuters, they could have been mistaken.

Just because something has potentially spread from human to human does not necessarily mean that it HAS spread from human to human. The key words in level 4 is virus adaptation.

Due to the mode of viral infection by binding to host cells(and in most part this binding is quite specific) the virus may be a veay capable killer, although the viruses may be either A) very fragile (such as HIV) or B) require further adaptations to infect in smaller numbers.
