I read somewhere swine flu had reached 150 deaths in total and this figure should continue to rise over time.

Well it's hardly going to decline is it lol

Can we not talk about sending the virus to countries to slim down their populations, even if it's only hypothetical? That's called genocide. Anywho, I'm not that scared about this. Bird flu had far more worrying and destructive implications, and that's failed to spread. I'd hate to jinx it, but still, not worried.

@MontanaHatchet: Well I hope it was clear but from my part I was just being sarcastic.

Especially since I have several friends in China...

I could tell, I guess I'm just sensitive about the subject.

Dude! did you not read the quote I posted? The more people predict doom and gloom the less likely it will be doom and gloom. If you go around predicting it will fizzle the same as previous scares, like you've just done here, then it will be a shitstorm of death and mayhem.

Everyone needs to preach doom and gloom, to prevent the worst case scenario from happening.

This is worse than the avian flu, given how much it has spread.

I actually have faith in the government to sort this out, when its their butts on the line as well as the publics they get their ass' in gear

Everyone will have forgotten about this by next week. Remember when I said that everyone would forget about the pirate attacks by next week? Now they have moved onto Swine Flu.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

“The first case was seen in Mexico on April 13. The outbreak coincided with the President Barack Obama’s trip to Mexico City on April 16. Obama was received at Mexico’s anthropology museum in Mexico City by Felipe Solis, a distinguished archeologist who died the following day from symptoms similar to flu, Reforma newspaper reported.”
