this is not always true, some Xbox owners who like FPS games bought ps3 for killzone and resistance
while some ps3 owners who like RPG bought an xbox to play Lost odyssey and ToV
so its not really true.

I would agree that many Xbox 360 owners are buying PS3's, but not to play games. As blu-ray seems to slowly becoming more visable, many people are starting to buy blu-ray players and thus one sees an increase in PS3 sales. I personnally see this blip as short lived however, and stand alone players are comming down in price.
PS3 software sales have not correlated with PS3 console sales. This is because a percentage of the user base bought the PS3 as a blu ray player. The sad part is that despite the advange of blu-ray, the PS3 sales have been lethargic and along with the economic downturn, will continue to be lethargic till the end of 2010, or possibly 2011. By then likely talks of the 'next gen' in consoles will be lilely.
I can not imagine anybody selling one to get the other.
There are games on both I reckon that folks would like.
So It would make more sense to buy one for more choice.

i can get a blu ray player for half the cost of a ps3
blu ray is the last thing to make me want a ps3
I did but trenchantly I only wanted to have a wii and ps3 but mom bought me a xbox for Christmas for no reason I ended up buying the ps3 a year later
To sound like a blind fanboy as some may feel, i have a friend that I can say was/is still a hardcore 360 gamer, and he buys a lot, he recently bought a ps3 for the very reason that there was no new 360 games coming out as of late, so he bought MS:PR, LBP, warhawk off the PSN, burnout off the PSN, and some other stuff. So yes, he plays a lot of the 2 systems now.

Sales data shows not, although I'm sure there will be more of each single console owning category starting to purchase another platform as prices fall.
Nah, if anything PS3 people are moving to 360 because of all the lost exclusives.
TC might want to not post their own thoughts on a blog just so you can credit a source.

Not to get off the subject but I own both systems and in February I decided that unless it is exclusive to the PS3 I buy for the 360. I know general consensus of friends and colleagues that have done the same thing. I also know about 5-6 people that have sold the PS3 to get a 360. |
I am the same way
How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...
Xbox 360 wants to Kinect & PS3 wants to Move! Why are both systems having such relationship problems? The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.
