Forums - Nintendo - I't Official Yahoo Hates Nintendo...

Yahoo does this crap all the time. They go with current trends.

Just a few months ago they were talking about how the PS3/PSP were doomed and praising Wii/360.

Now few months later they are bashing Wii? Makes no sense huh?

What's next? Bashing of the 360? Oh wait they already did that as well.

Who listens to Yahoo anyway...they would probably claim that bananas are aliens from outer space if they got paid for it.

Yahoo has been posting doom and gloom Wii stories for awhile now. I think a few months back they had an article saying the Wii is losing momentum, and before that an article saying Animal Crossing and Wii Music Flopped. Would be nice to see Yahoo have an article saying something positive about the Wii.

This is about the DS, actually.

And I'm going to be fair to Yahoo! for once. They're only a week behind the curve this time, so they're taking baby-steps towards returning to relevance.

So why are people blaming Yahoo as a whole? Seriosuly, if people are going to bitch and complain about bias in the media, they might as well narrow down their hate so that it's not aimed at an entire corporate entity. I can understand if the title said "The employees of Yahoo Video Games hate Nintendo", but by blaming all of Yahoo it just turns into a laughable, generalized, and likely false, claim.

Oh, another one:

They call Nintendo's Wiiware minimum sales level for developers getting royalties a "brutal policy" and say developers "might want to avoid the Wii".

Generalizations often serve as a way of easily identifying something. You can't expect people to go "that dude that by hazard works for a company called Yahoo, and maybe because he ate something bad that morning, decided to say something lousy about the DS".

If a PR dude from Sony or MS says something stupid, the company gets a bad name because of that person. That's too bad but also very normal. They hired him, they suffer the consequences. So if someone wrote something for Yahoo and they publish it (/ don't take it back), then they're to blame as well.

A paper running with a story is responsible for the story, just as the writer is. Everyday work.

It is one thing to write an article, it is another thing to write an article and make it the featured story of the day.  If the story was in a video game section of yahoo it would be fine.  But the fact that Yahoo thinks the story is so important that it needs to be on the front page so that every single person that goes to yahoo sees a picture on the top of the page saying something like trouble at Nintendo.  Is there really nothing more important going on in the world than so and so video game flops?

Looks pretty good for a Wii game.
