Why do PS3 fanboys always depict the Xbox 360 as some family car whilst depicting the PS3 as some sports car? Its like they are compensating for something.

In any case the closest analogy is the WRX + STI vs Evo

Which one's the 360?

WRX + STI = 360.

The reason? Multiple SKUs with cheaper 'casual' types (WRX/Station wagons) alongside your hardcore STI sedans/hatchbacks and your elite coupes which as a whole are on average cheaper, less reliable but sell better vs the mitsubish Evo, more hardcore in every itteration one major SKU which is only directly comparable to the upscaled minority of the STI which are coupes even though its always compared to the WRXs *when it suits the WRX* which gains more enthusiast attention but fewer sales.

@squilliam, I wasn't aware of the v6 model problems. Their current and recent rankings from Consumer Reports were pretty good (I have the best & worst 2009 cars issue). The only model on the v6 Camry that didn't fair as the previous years was the 07 model which was a major redesign year. The only 3 categories that were marked as bad were trans. minor, brakes, and body integrity. They fixed those issues for 08 model except for body integrity which improved slightly. The audio system was ranked worse though.

I was reading Wikipedia for the specs. That info came from there, so needs salt for taste.

I believe Consumer Reports does far better testing and polling than Wikipedia.  Anyways, I believe your car analogy is a lot better than the op.

;_; your logic is infallible. Let me guess... don't tell me.... Nintendo supporter?

Yes, you are correct. I am not sure what gave that away. I love the fat kid in your sig.

Its the logic, I can never defeat Nintendo fans in 1:1 battle.

A modern game system isn't just a self consuming product for the most part, it's a platform. So much like a video format, it's not about the player itself but the movie library that format supports. What makes a console is the software, not the hardware. Therefore sales matter, eventually it does, and it's just what it is.

A console may get a good stream of content for a good while, but if sales aren't good enough eventually that content will stop flowing and you're gonna have to buy another console sooner. So unless you're a late adopter, completely ignoring sales patterns is a little stupid.

But then again that depends on your tastes, if you're not particularly unique then perhaps sales won't be that relevant. But if you want a lot of content for a longer time, which most people do, you might wanna check with the markets just to make sure it's doing OK. Doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a market leader, but if it's at least selling well enough the platform will more likely continue to flourish.

I guess it makes sense.

Well, comparing consoles to cars isn´t really good...they´re 2 very different things.
