Forums - Nintendo - The new WaveBird?

For those who wanted a wavebird controller that Nintendo discontinued (and is yet the perfect controller for Wii GC and VC games) there may be new hope...The Thrustmaster

The Thrustmaster T-Wireless NW gamepad isn’t going to use Nintendo’s wireless signal, so you’re going to have to plug in a dongle to make it work. That’s better than plugging the controller into the Wiimote. You’ll be able to use your new controller from up to 30 feet away.

 But even better:

The controller supports vibration feedback (the original Wavebird didn't), so you’ll get that nice rumble feeling that you know and love. Best of all, the controller is priced at $19.99 and will be available in October.

I usually don't get third party controllers, but I may make an exception this time.

meh, i think I will sell my two wavebirds on ebay.

1. I won't buy any vc games beyond NES and SNES
2. SNES is better with classic controller
3. I won't buy any gamecube games, and I already sold the last i had

So, I could get $50 or so out of them on ebay and buy a wii game.

T-Wireless? wtf is T?

Same. I never got the Classic because it plugged into the Wiimote. This seems like a good solution.

However, I may wait a bit, since Logitech was planning on launching 'something' for the Wii by the end of the year.

I'm still confused by this vague speak.

I saw this on IGN and hailed it as god at first, because it meant I could use this for both Classic and GC games well.

But does it have analog triggers? Those are essential for GC games.

But more importantly: Does it ACTUALLY work with Classic games? I don't understand how it can...for games that require a Classic controller, like some SNES games, can the GC controller ports actually communicate as a Classic controller? I didn't know it had enough button inputs, etc, to do so. Also, no Home button?

Methinks it's just an enhanced GC controller. Analog triggers? I don't know. It's not going to have the home button because it doesn't take place of the Wii remote. It plugs into the GC port (which is required to do GC games on the Wii).

I might buy this one to play SSBB with 2 more friends since I don't own wavebirds and my GC controllers are very damaged xD. 2 of them for the price of 1 wiimote. I will wait until december to see how it turns out.

Yeah, I'll wait before Brawl comes out to get these...in case better controllers come out by then.

@ donwii -- what's the big deal with the classic controller plugging into the wiimote? one set less of batteries, and you can just drop the classic controller in your lap.

The only reason I havn't sold the two wavebirds is due to brawl. but, I probably won't buy it anyways and it can be played with the wiimote or classic so... I think I will sell them so I can buy something else.

Why it looks like it's half a ps controller and 360 controller.
