Forums - PC - Steam Weekend Deal - 66% Off Orange Box (only $10)!!!

Awesome deal.
Already own this on 360, but I've been waiting for a good sale so I can also have it on PC.
Almost bought it for $30 which is a hard sell considering it only costs $20 for the PS3 and 360 versions currently.
Steam rocks.
Time to play with HL2 mods enabled.

I took a look at the fakefull mod for Half-Life 2 that makes the game feel a little refreshed with updated textures, Dark Knight music, added dynamic shadows and some HDR, and more detailed weapon models with some different (louder...) gunfire sounds. Something about riding the hovercraft through the canals is just so much cooler with music from the Dark Knight playing in the background, lol.

If anything, think of the value of Team Fortress 2 with all the updates it's gotten as motivation.

Oh man that is an awesome deal for those who've been under a boulder.

Especially if they haven't already played Half-Life 2 and Episode 1.

yeah, this is the greatest deal ever for any PC gamer.

I already own it, but otherwise I'd buy it in two seconds flat.

I'm a little disappointed though, I was hoping for a Braid deal. I really want to buy that game, but I'm going to wait until it's on sale.

This is invisible text!

Braid is still too new to PC to go on sale.

The one downside to Steam sales is that they do seem to be almost completely random (the other downside being that you often buy games on weekend sales you may have had no intention of buying in the first place).

Orange Box released in 2007 just had its first weekend sale whereas L4D had a half off sale earlier this year despite being released in fall 2008.

Barring pre-order sales on new games, you never know when a game you want is going to be on sale through Steam.

great deal... bought it yesterday and now I give my HL2 to a friend as gift!

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

Bought it... and bought a second Orange box copy for my friend.
