i think the ps3 will sell more than wii in japan this year

at theprof00's golden saucer I made a bet that Nintendo would not outsell sony in any week in japan for the rest of the year.

Ok if Nintendo doesn't annouce anything new on E3 or any big games being released for Japan in 2009, would it be safe to say the PS3 has 2009 in the bag for Japan?

PS3 has no real software mover until Q4, whilst from now on wii will have a sustaisned line up of console pushers throughout the year

Anything close to these numbers.

Someone would need to be heavy on crack to expect any console to sell more than 2m this year on Japan. Market there is dying due to the lack of a SW dominant console.

so you expect WSR and MH3 make no impact?

That's for the next 2 months. Then we will learn about the 2nd half of the year anytime now. There's quite a lot of releases ranging from big to small and very varied. It will be a much closer year, that's for sure. Still we are too early into the year to declare a winner, things could be turned upside down at any moment.
