-1 PS3 had a single huge week, and looks to be very much down this week looking at the J preview, despite the release of killzone. It will continue to drop and will stay low until FFXIII

 

0 So does the 360

 

1 MS is in a better place to be price dropping than Sony

2 Will be big, yes. But 1 game isn't going to turn this gen around.

3 Highest selling non main series FF is on 2.45 million.

4 late ports will not help the PS3

5 It's only exclusive in Japan, so its effect will be less than expected

6 Sequels to current gen games do not move hardware

7 It's not that big a series. Also I don't think it's a 2009 game btw

 

There is no chance of the PS3 selling more than the 360 in 2009

ff versus is main series for god sake. the cgi trailer cost more than all the crystal chronicles put together.

I would bet money FFXIII Versus ends up on the 360. Hell, Wii HD might be out by the time that's even ready to go at this rate. 

Wasn't FFXIII supposed to be absolutely, 100% for sure exclusive to the PS3? We saw how that went. 

If FFXIII sells well on the 360 in the West, Square-Enix has pretty much no choice but to also bring Versus to the 360. Microsoft will give them a nice little pay off to seal the deal, but they're not going to leave all those fans of FFXIII just hanging on the 360. Especailly with S-E saying they want to focus more on the Western markets -- PS3 exclusivity is not gonna happen with that title.

Strangely, it wasn't. Versus is/was/has been though so we'll just have to wait and see.

Lol at the XIII Versus coming out in time for the Wii HD - everyone knows its going to be a launch title for the PS5!

That's funny, I didn't think I made any claims as to FFVXIII being cheap. I merely pointed out that it is not main series, and shouldn't be considered as big as a main series game

Get over it already. Final Fantasy Mainline has gone multi.

With recent adjustment the gap between PS3 and XBox 360 is a mere 8 million lead. PS3 adjusted up 100k and XBox 360 adjusted down 100k for the first four months of 2009. The gap between PS3 and 360 sales in worldwide weekly sales is narrowing only 10k 360 victory over PS3 in recent weeks

With huge PS3 exclusive games soon to be released which will put PS3 ahead of XBox 360 in weekly sales. The long overdue late 2009 PS3 price cuts will result in the PS3 outselling XBox 360 in console sales for the rest of the generation and PS3 will rapidly close the gap on XBox 360 and overtake it within 2 years time. PS3 with much longer lifespan combined with its brand name and support for Sony will be on the market a lot longer than its arch enemy XBox 360.
