PS3 outsells X360 by 50k in Japan region just with FFXIII demo last week.

Remember PS3 has a lot of aces up its sleeve:

1. Possible PS3 price cut later on in 2009.

2. Gran Turismo 5

3. Ffxiii versus

4. More jrpgs from 360 being ported to PS3 which will sell more on PS3. 

5. FFXIII should sell heaps in three sales regions especially Japan

6. UnCharted 2 and Ratchet and Clank will sell very well and move PS3 hardware in 2009.

7. God of War 3 and many more games for PS3.

I believe PS3 should be able to outsell XBox 360 in worldwide console sales for 2009.

I think they will sell well but I don't think they'll move much hardware

Just? You're in Japan, and it's a Final Fantasy demo. It's not "just".

When i first looked on the front page i thought to myself wait i dont remember creating a thread with that title so i clicked on the title and behold i was right it wasnt me lol


If all that happens then i expect the ps3 to be on the Wii's tale never mind beating out the 360

You forget one important thing. It's the PS3's destiny to get outsold by the 360 and the Wii.

1. Everyone expects that.

2. Aside from GT5, none of the other reasons are significant.

Whew, just when i tought Wii will outsell PS3, BANG. PS3 outsold it 4:1

People are getting way too excited.

Momentum? "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

A one week uber-spike in sales in Japan-only due to a FFXIII demo release does not equal momentum.

If PS3 starts consistently selling over 30k a week in Japan, then that would be momentum.  This is merely an aberration.

Well it wasn't just a demo, it was also a special edition PS3 (including a 160gb hd as well). Standard size PS3 hd is 80gb in Japan.

I think you should wait a week to see how the hold-up after the bundles have been sold out to see if the spike can turn into a long term trend.

Though golden week is coming up here in Japan, so that might help things out a bit.
