Forums - Sales - Japan Charts Week 17 (04/20/09 - 04/26/09)

Man TheSource is getting attacked today. I don't know what he does for the numbers but I'm not going to call him a liar.

I actually thank him cause it helps me get through the week before me get Famitsu/MC numbers then the official. You guys can't give someone credit who is trying real hard to please you damn people on this site. Go to your little Emo homes and cry about it in your little Emo universe.

Although I admit you were a little off though but it happens to the best of us.

FootballFan - "GT has never been bigger than Halo. Now do a comparison between the two attach ratios and watch GT get stomped by Halo. Reach will sell 5 million more than GT5. Quote me on it."

No one ever claimed Wii would

a) be saved in Japan. You can't be saved when your 5m ahead

b) get a long term boost from these titles

You think you are over-reacting much?

Second, Deca Sports 2 wasn't just my expectation as a big title. Hudson shipped 80,000 copies the first week. With those figures you have to figure Nintendo and Hudson both expected at least a bit of a bump. Finally, Monster Hunter G did boost sales for Wii this week. I'll give you Muramasa - that should never have been pitched as a boost. But the other two titles were sound expectations.

Alot of you were ready to massacre me for calling for a 40k PS3 drop this week, even though thats exactly what happened. If your going to knock me for missing Wii by 5k, at least recognize I got the harder prediction, the scale of the PS3 drop - correct.

Your prediction from other thread:

PS3 could sell 40k the next three weeks with the demo drop off offset by Golden Week, and I figure Wii will get its MHG lift and then lift 30-50% above that level the next two weeks on Golden Week.

57k/40k/40k/40k

14k/32k/42k/40k

Why is it so hard to tell the truth on an internet forum?

Context is king.

Bigger drop off than expected for PS3 (i figured it would hold to about ~23k) and smaller rise than expected for Wii. Its pretty much official that the systems will be tied in 2009 until Wii Sports Resort releases sometime in June. Since Wii is trending positively into Golden Week through (up 33%) while PS3 is not (down 66%) Wii is probably going to outsell PS3 over Golden Week.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

he was talking about his prediction in the japanese preview.

Preview is not his prediction, it is information based on a sample.

sorry for my english

^sure, the prediction is almost always wrong, but he never goes with that. Funny he releases his final numbers after every other damn site does it. It seems to me the final numbers are "borrowed" and he just adds a little spin to it.

This week is weird, Wii gets a very small HW bump and 360 HW drops despite having 2 games in the Top 30

I don't see you running your own website/helping around in one, or doing something about sales reports. Let me know when you do it.

We need a TheSource defense force!

^there's a reason why this site is not hired to report on sales for ANY software/ hardware company.

Do you trust NPD that much. You do Know they estimate a big chunk of thier numbers too. They don't get numbers from Walmart,Amazon, and Toy R US. They estimate the sells of those places so in truth No ever knows how much really did consumers buy of anything just educated guesses.

I love fighting games !!! Come on challenge me !
