Forums - Nintendo - Next Nintendo System

the next nintendo console won't come out for a heck of a long time.

nintendo doesn't need a new console. in their mind, next-gen would mean new experience, which could just mean a new controller for the wii. graphics are already at 'good enough' status, so that won't help.

for the wii's sussesor, they will have a hard time trying to find something to make it unieque, so they will probably wait a long while for r and d to make something interesting that they can use [what do you think that brand new r and d building next to nintendo corp in japan is for, people?] also, it would be very difficult to make something like virtual reality or mind wave reading or some shit like that to not only work, and be accurate, but also be intuitive and easy for anybody to use. [aka a full body of sensors that has to be put on to play is a big no-no.]

so i say the wii 2 [it won't be called that] will come out in like 2015 or so.

come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=76669&page=1

you can view a few screenshots from the game in my photo album here; http://www.vgchartz.com/photos/album.php?album=2312

Nintendo should release a stand alone HD system that can play all Wii games, but also HD games, and sell it alongside the Wii for $250 without any game or controller. This way, anyone with a Wii can upgrade at a relatively low cost, and HD freaks will finally be able to play Nintendo games.
As long as Nintendo supports the HD system with a couple of games a year, TP support should come from all publishers creating PS360 games.

Stop saying DISCUUUSSS.

And of course it will be HD.... HD does not mean hardcore, it is a resolution, which will be cheap enough and widespread enough to include in the next console.

Nintendo will bring out their new console at a time when they need to, this will be priced to sell as many consoles as they can without selling at a loss.

To do this they will upgrade only within reason if this can include HD it will (this most likely be the case) they will also take game dev costs into account as this is very important to them.

i think they will stay with 720p nextgen - it will be cheaper to make console capable of showing 720p graphics with steady 30-60 framerate - they don't need 1080p for games. and i would prefer 720p with steady 60frames/sec and better art style, textures etc than 1080p with unsteady framerate and worse graphics.

There's really no reason why they wouldn't go HD for their next console. It's still years away and will be a lot cheaper to do by then. What I'm more curious about is what other types of things they do, since it's not like anyone really saw motion controls coming.

The only teeth strong enough to eat other teeth.

HD is a given, I think. I'm not sure if they'll market it as having HD.. the hardware will just be cheap enough. The real question is if they can get third parties on board?

Honestly by 2013 something even better then 1080p will be out. If the Wii sticks with the 720p, this could hurt them. Also keep in mind that more and more people are buying HD tvs.

They have already stated that it will be HD (pure logic).

I hope they do continue with theur Blue ocean strategy.
