actually the english version have to be done first unless they want to redo all the animations.
the english version will be delayed. thats almost a fact.

I really don't want to post the release dates of Final Fantasy titles in Japan then in the US and Europe for the what seems like the 50th time. If have to keep repeating myself. I'm just going put it in my signature.

FF takes over 6 months to reach the US on average and nearly 10 months to reach Europe on average.* In fact is the reason the average is so low because IX only took 4 months to reach the US and 7 months to reach Europe. The localization time has increased in every Final Fantasy game since IX. XII took 7 months to hit the US and 11 months to hit Europe. If XIII takes more than 7 months to his the US and 11 months to hit Europe you'd have a leg to stand on. Until then its just fanboy BS.

*My average starts with FFVII. Using any title before VII would unfairly increase the average since FFII, FFIII, and FFV took years to get official US localizations.

@naraku diabolos ps3 support Ps2 upcalling and texture smoothing since 1.5-1.8 a long time ago.

That is entirely true. However, the PS2 version of FFXI is FIXED with the resolution selection you can choose from.

http://ps2.ign.com/articles/500/500717p7.html

"Graphics
Hopeful PS2 owners that think that the console version of Final Fantasy XI will match the PC rendition in terms of visual quality should prepare to get their hopes crushed. Lacking any type of progressive scan support (though it does cater to 16:9 televisions), the game's one and only default resolution is the standard 640x480 (the Windows burn boasts almost twice that). That's not to say that Final Fantasy XI doesn't look particularly strong for a PlayStation 2 title, though, because it does. Particularly when battling it out against some of the more detailed boss monsters or exploring the smaller-in-scope sections of the world.
It may not be on the same level of quality as Final Fantasy X or X-2, but it's a hell of a lot better looking than PS2 owner's other MMORPG alternative, EverQuest.

On the PC, FFXI's draw distance is an impressive feat. On the PS2, you could say that it's almost more impressive once you consider the textures and objects being processed on the inferior PlayStation 2 architecture. That said, players should still expect a generous amount of pop-up, draw-in, and other graphical glitches deep into the horizon as the game tries to keep up with everything that's going on. Good as it may be, there are some instances where the world is just too big for its own good. The same can be said for the framerate in spots as well, as cities in particular are the most prone to bouts of slowdown. On a more positive front, there are tons of different particle effects, lighting techniques, and shadowing going on at practically all hours and the occasional CG cut scenes are of the same high quality that Square Enix fans have come to expect. All in all, FFXI still boasts one of the most impressive graphical engines on the system."

PS2 picture of FFXI with highest resolution:

PC version of FFXI:

Full image can be found at: http://mediaviewer.ign.com/ignMediaPage.jsp?media_id=1913761&object_id=17388&channel_id=227&page_title=Final+Fantasy+XI+Review&adtag=network%3Dign%26size%3D468x60%26channel%3Drpgvault%26site%3Drpgvault_hub%26channel%3Dreviews%26type%3Dpartner

Notice anything different from the text shown? The PC version has higher resolution and is zoomed out more, and that's the highest it can go for the PC. Even if FFXI from the PS2 is put on the PS3, it CANNOT have it's resolution changed from the configurations for the PlayOnline Viewer or the game itself. On my laptop, the resolution gets maxed out at 1440x900 for the overlay graphics resolution, with the background resolution getting maxed out at 1024x1024.

I personally can't wait to see 200 youtube videos comparing the graphics on each system in blurry videos.

"Look see the PS3 looks better the 360 is darker and not as crisp"

"No tePS3 one looks jaggy and the framerate is stuttering"

"no look this N64 game looks better"

"No way the Genesis has BLAST PROCESSING!

"No way!"

It's not like it really matters. They don't really make good games anymore.

i know that... now add the porting time, that will be done AFTER english localization on the ps3.

You are speculating just like me, I say that while they are doing the translation they will also be developing the game for the 360.

You just have it in your head that they are delaying the ps3 version because of the 360, I am fine with that because they were plenty of games delayed for 360 because of ps3 the biggest one being GTA4, but don't act like you know exactly whats going on at SE.

GTA4 was also cut limited by DVD space either way i don't care about GTA4 i care about FF13.

i am not especulating there was a article about it, kitasate or some one of the director was saying that he was telling this programmer not to worry about a 360 version but finish the ps3 version.

they are doing the localization starting the port after the localization but the port no way in hell will be done before the localization.

because besides porting they have to do a localization too.

I'm guessing SE is desperately trying to break into the Western market...

...Even though when they didn't have the same strategy their games did well in the Western market regardless...

That makes no sense, if you are trying to break into the western market(which they have already broken into in the ps2 era) why are you going to release your games exclusive to one platform?

Welcome to the PS3/SE/FF fan Paradox :P

I would continue but the discussion is getting tired, as you're whole argument doesn't really matter in the end as the facts are Final Fantasy 13 is coming to both PS3 and 360 the same day in the western world, discussion closed.
