I'm m going to ban anyone who says anything that's not about the game but purely whining about the platform and SE 360 exclusivity (while that's not even confirmed).

I'm sick and tired of the crying over Japanese sales of 360 JRPGs, when all people really care about is that the game is not on your system. That's indeed sad, but you can do two things:

a) Buy a 360
b) Don't play the game

You don't hear me whining about Valkyria Chronicles every single time, now do you? I'll simply buy a PS3 for that game eventually. Edit: I don't mean you outlaw, just noticed the VC example might make you feel that way.

This + 1,000,000,000

VGChartz will definitely be a better place.

Oh well I guess this didnt work.

I guess all of the above posts makes it 'complete idiocy' that Killzone 2/Resistance 2 had 'abysmal' sales because relatively it could have more than doubled the revenue/sales on the 360. Also they must be complete loonies for not putting LBP on the Wii because it would have been a perfect gift.

Games are creative media and there are so many factors to do with finance, human resource, developers and business publishing deals when deciding on a platform. Its not so clear cut where every publisher has developers/teams to release on every platform for all of their games. Smaller/less resourced companies can no longer afford that, but SE are trying to do that - like their business deals for Eidos, working with MS to release games faster in the West, and partnering with Gas Powered Games to venture into new genres like RTS.

Sorry folks but many people have their livelihoods to think about and the future of the company rather than a few extra 100k of sales (which last I checked PS3 development costs were the highest, and with Sony not being too generous in marketing/distribution costs because of their performance). And, Japanese business is at an all time low and these companies need to plant their seeds now for the future.

Its getting so tiring reading 'What about the fanbase?' and 'Its complete idiocy of SE'. Funnily enough, most of these posters think it must have been complete idiocy to launch FF13 for the 360, when they are arguing about sales and as if they are the only fans.

Ironically, this is the same strategy that Sony is adopting with more focus on Western studios and partnerships.

....*Shakes Head* Square-Enix is really going to be on my sellout list for sure if they make this a more TPS oriented game. Them along with Capcom have really really treated their fanbases like crap this gen. I understand try to appeal to the west more but still this is just ridiculous don't forget your roots!

Front Mission should be a SRPG not a TPS

Can't really agree that Capcom's been too bad this gen. Their games have been sweet, and they've only really been bad on the DLC front.

And while I would prefer an SRPG, but I'm not really hating the idea of a Front Mission TPS at all.

Mech games aren't typical TPSs though due to the ability to move 360 degrees in all directions. Its more of a Flight combat shooter thing.

Yeah but Wanzers don't really do that...

They don't have the "Swivel bases" that Mech Warrior type mechs do.

Unless they just change what a wanzer is in general.  It'll be tough to pull off as a Mech simulator... unless they make heavy use of the back pedalling jets that were upgrades in other games.

hnmm.. so it isnt anything like Armored Core then. Thats sad really. So From Software and Kojima are the only developers who have successful made a true Mech Simulator then it seems.

microsoft makes purtty* good mech games as well. i <3 you mech warrior/assault

* im redneck today

i own a 360 so i dont care. but Se needs to rethink their strategy . they are being rape by wrpgs like (mass effect, fall out 3 ,etc) i hate those games by the way. this 360 exlusivity strategy isnt working.

Well, it was specifically trademarked as FM: Evolved and not FM6: Evolved.

IDK. We'll see eventually.

Soriku is right.

Maybe a remake of one of the older ones?

Can't be.... if it's in NY.

Front Mission 3 would fit Front Mission evolved... but that happened in Japan.  Front Mission 1 happened in the Huffman Islands, Front Mission 2 happened in Bangeldesh, Front Mission 4 happens in South America and Europe.

Still the fact that they trademarked "Front Mission: Scars of War" for Front Mission 5 shows anything is possible.

It does look like a new Front Mission. The mechs remind me a bit of Xenogears too though.

I'm just throwing out ideas. I don't know much of anything about the series.

Oh ho.  Wait you gave me an idea.  One I'm stupid for not realizing sooner.

Front Mission: Gun Hazard

Front Mission: Gun Hazard did have seens in NY.  For example.

Front Mission: Gun Hazard features several military organizations:

Kernelight Associations is a Mercenary Guild located in New York. Mercenaries are hired and assigned jobs which is basically being hired by one side to fight the other side in a War or to Protect and Escort a V.I.P. from danger. Depending on what happens, Mercenaries either come back to receive their paycheck or they come back from their botched job in a bodybag. Merc-Work groups are a composition of a Carrier Pilot and a Wanzer Pilot working in tandem. Mercenaries that break Contract during a job are fired and no longer employed by Kernelight. The person in charge of Kernelight Associations is Richard Millman.

Perhaps not a remake since Gunhazard sucked... but it being in NY.  It might be a similar setup.

You think SE would have learnt from the amazingly bad sales of TLR, IU and SO4 on the 360 but i guess they are wanting to go bankrupt these days!

Looks at TLR sales... Riiight they look ok to me. IU would have been better it was rushed unfortunately. Star Ocean 4 is doing ok I wish it was doign better but I will leave judgement on that one and ToV until after European launches.

Dude...Just Ignore...They don't mind if SquareEnix makes games for Nintendo...It's when they make 360 games that pisses them...I have no Idea Why...Seems from the few responses from SonyLand that they do not care much for the tittle...I sure MS is Making Deals With SquareEnix to continue Exclusive Support.....But Anyways..If it was a PS3 exclusive they would have been all "IN YO FACE" and What not.....WHoopie!!!Another SE 360 game...and that usually plays real good with a very good narrative..

@Squall

LOL...Your So funny...You act Like Enix was selling by the zillions on it's own...And the reason they keep making games for 360 is that is the Western Market here has alot of 360 support....especially in in the SCI-FI department

360 having WESTERN support doesn't cahnge the fact that those game's sales were abysmal. Why don't they try putting their games on a system with more JAPANESE support?

Both systems are even as far as japan support its nearly 50/50 why does it matter if SE wants to support 360. Look at last gen I hated that my favorite system had no games from them at all. If anything its just nice to see both systems doing well but neither blowing the other one out of the water. They are giving titles to every system this gen. and they should have done the same last gen but they learned from the mistake thankfully.

EDIT: Who on earth could even think Capcom was not supporting this gen. As far as HD consoles are concerned they been extremely supportive. Wii is a different story but they are startign to bring some good stuff on Wii also.

 How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

@outlawauron

I was thinking the same thing. Like maybe a remake of the first one, but I didn't want to look like a dumb ass... thanks for doing it for me. n_n
