I'm m going to ban anyone who says anything that's not about the game but purely whining about the platform and SE 360 exclusivity (while that's not even confirmed).

I'm sick and tired of the crying over Japanese sales of 360 JRPGs, when all people really care about is that the game is not on your system. That's indeed sad, but you can do two things:

a) Buy a 360
b) Don't play the game

You don't hear me whining about Valkyria Chronicles every single time, now do you? I'll simply buy a PS3 for that game eventually. Edit: I don't mean you outlaw, just noticed the VC example might make you feel that way.

This + 1,000,000,000

VGChartz will definitely be a better place.

Oh well I guess this didnt work.

I guess all of the above posts makes it 'complete idiocy' that Killzone 2/Resistance 2 had 'abysmal' sales because relatively it could have more than doubled the revenue/sales on the 360. Also they must be complete loonies for not putting LBP on the Wii because it would have been a perfect gift.

Games are creative media and there are so many factors to do with finance, human resource, developers and business publishing deals when deciding on a platform. Its not so clear cut where every publisher has developers/teams to release on every platform for all of their games. Smaller/less resourced companies can no longer afford that, but SE are trying to do that - like their business deals for Eidos, working with MS to release games faster in the West, and partnering with Gas Powered Games to venture into new genres like RTS.

Sorry folks but many people have their livelihoods to think about and the future of the company rather than a few extra 100k of sales (which last I checked PS3 development costs were the highest, and with Sony not being too generous in marketing/distribution costs because of their performance). And, Japanese business is at an all time low and these companies need to plant their seeds now for the future.

Its getting so tiring reading 'What about the fanbase?' and 'Its complete idiocy of SE'. Funnily enough, most of these posters think it must have been complete idiocy to launch FF13 for the 360, when they are arguing about sales and as if they are the only fans.

Ironically, this is the same strategy that Sony is adopting with more focus on Western studios and partnerships.
