It's probably a real one and if not it probably will be in six months. It didn't sell well enough for Square to justify keeping it as a 360 exclusive especially in Japan. Ninja Gaiden II and Vesperia ar both coming to the PS3 and the PS3 has demonstrated that it can be the biggest console in Japan, so why not?

I'm sorry, but I must've missed where the PS3 sold over 8 million units of hardware in Japan...

Oh, I don't think it has, but it could be headed towards 7 million by some point in 2010.  And, do you remeber that Janet Jackson song, "What have you done for me lately?"  Well, as of late the Wii has been getting its hat handed to it in Japan by a console that costs $150.00 more.

Now granted the Wii will probably be back on top when Monster Hunter and Wii Sports Resort comes out, but how sustainable its longterm pops from those games will be in the long run is questionable at this point in time.

How much of a pop the Wii would get in Japan from a game like Arc Rise Phantasia is questionable if the PS3 has its version of Vesperia or Star Ocean 4 coming out at roughly the same time.

lol   He didn't say PS3 overtook the install base from Wii in Japan, don't lose your waggle there. Key words is that "it can be the biggest console in japan" and we can clearly see that with the sales report from this week.

We see it can be the biggest console in Japan because it got a big hardware boost when the demo for FF13 was released? ... Right. One game does not a console make, no matter how big the boost is. It's going to get an even bigger boost when the actual game is released ... Still won't be the biggest console in Japan. Was a pretty inaccurate statement.

No one said it was the biggest console in japan, that's the point. The point is that it has the "potential" to the biggest console there. The potential comes from software and price.

It's not just about a demo raising the hw, the past 3 months PS3 oustold Wii cause of software and the Wii's lack of new software. Throw in a price cut and trends can always change. I am not saying it's gonna sell over 8 million, but PS3 can definately take a piece of the Wii's cake in Japan. This weeks sales and the past 12 weeks for that matter shows that.

Did you find it on the internet?
Did you find it from an unofficial source acting like it's official?

If either of those are a yes, then assume it's a fake.

How about we look at it from a more sensible point of view ... Wii hasn't had a hardware moving game out for a very long time in Japan, and it's sales are at, what, 18-19k? Last year, when the PS3 didn't have hardware moving games out for a long time, it's sales were actually below 360 for several weeks and were often below 10k.

So... Yeah. I don't really see the point, here. If those are the system's respective numbers when no massive games have just been released, then ... Well...

That's the linear problem right there. 18 -19k? Last week, wii was at 15k and 360 at 9.5k (not much of a difference), that's it's lowest plateau thus far. And this isn't 2008 in Japan, PS3's software lineup is better now then this time last year. So far it's went down to 16k  in the last 3 months. We don't know how long it will last at this level or what the plateau will be for PS3 dropping off.

PS3 2009 Japan Plateau for week to week sales with no hardware boosting games = ???

Wii 2009 Japan Plateau for week to week sales with no hardware boosting games = 15k

360 2009 Japan Plateau for week to week sales with no hardware boosting games = 7k-9.5k

Yeah, but the thng is with the Wii being as successful as it has been, then it shouldn't be having two months of an extended software drop off.  Did the PS2 do that?  Do the DS and PSP do that?

And when games like FFXIII and GT5 come out, PS3 numbers in times when they do fall off will reach lows that are higher than any of their lows have ever been in the past there.  Their lows in those times might even be equal to some of the highs the console has seen so far.

DAAAAAMN! I would love this!!! ;_; I hope it's true!!!

I'm going to assume it is fake, because I only trust a few websites, though I would expect something like this to be announced on the official PlayStation blog, even though it does look right

It is just a matter of time before it comes to PS3, and I really hope they announce it soon, because I do want it on PS3 not Xbox, but it is coming out in about 6 weeks, so I will probably end up getting it on Xbox, with all those disc changes....

trust me SO4 will come oy the ps3!! the succes of the ps3 in japan is 100x more than the x360 and japanese dev are seeing that.

If it's true then, good news for me. But I will not keep my hopes up so I won't be disappointed.
