btw i reckon Halo 3 should do similar to 2 numbers lifetime [maybe slightly less]. Brawl will beat Melee easy and should do similar numbers to H3 [not sure about outselling it] Galaxy, as long as it is considered better than sunshine, should easily outsell halo.
however 1st week sales Halo will be higher, though if you add 1st week of each region it could be close.

Wait wait...hold on...I am not as convinced that Brawl and SMG can't beat Halo 3 week 1 numbers. Now I won't say its very likely but considering Halo 3 launching pre Holidays and SMG & Brawl launch during the holidays its not impossible. Just unlikely.

Edit: Just to elaborate a bit, the big advantage that Halo is working against is the lackluster Japan install base. Its far from insurmountable but it is still a pretty sizeable chunk of units SMG/Brawl will sell there that essentially add to their total. With this "extra market" it isn't a complete impossibility...I kind of wonder what the odds would be if you were to place a bet in Vegas. I'm sure a bunch of people will say 100:1 or 1000:1 but if you really wanna go that far with it I might have to take you up for $5 lol.

Just for the record I am assuming by Week 1 sales we are talking about adding up the first week sales of each region and calling that the Week 1 sales for each game. If you go by just the first it is out overall Halo 3 will win hands down since it launches WW in a 3-day span where as SMG & Brawl have quite a bit more spread to the releases.

How we decide to look at it ultimately doesn't matter though, all 3 games will sell fantastically and the people purchasing the games are pretty much guaranteed to be getting their moneys worth.

Preorder numbers are a load of crap anyways. God of War 2 had over a million preorders. Pokemon only had 500k preorders. Did that have any bearing on which title performed better? Nope.

Halo 3 will most likely beat it first week/s
later on if wii install base is that much higher, i see it easily passing halo
