The USA has no or little history. What they call history we call modern events lol. But seriously it only has a two hundred+ years of real history.

British history is jam packed full of stuff, but to justify it I'm going to go with European history as just British history would make little sense without the rest of Europe. Italy, France, Germany, Spain, it's been one hell of a ride.

Now as for people of historical importance I'm afraid no-one can beat the British.

To say that the USA has little or no History is being a liitle naive.  Oddly enough I am trying to think of something that the British has done in the last hundred years or so of any importance at all.

BTW, your last comment is full of lulz.

It only started in 1773 with the Boston Tea Party. And the US only became significant on the world stage in the 20th century?

So fighting with the British, and winning, to declare our independance back in the 1760s & 1770s wasnt significant on the world stage at all?

Not really on the world stage that was centered in Europe. Untill 1850 you were beating up some Indians. After which the country turned into a civil war.

USA members say USA history is the best!
British members say Britain history is the best!

I didn't expected anything else =p.

Anyway I find the history of France/Japan and UK very interesting. The only thing that really interested me about USA was the civil war.

No, it wasn't significant at all. Not to people who have a bias against the USA and want to try to belittle the country.

Oh so you have to start killing a bunch of people from different countries around the world to be significant on the world stage?  Gotcha, how stupid of me to think that just becoming a country, and fighting off a country trying to control us from halfway around the world would be significant.

Wow, you won a war hundreds of years ago fighting in your home territory, whilst the enemy came from thousands of miles away and therefore it was a logistical nightmare to organise the war. Not to mention the French played a huge role in that war.

Fact is, British history > American history. Without Britain, the world would not be industrialised to anywhere near the extent it is today. I could talk forever about this, but I really should revise for my exams.

Also, lol @ the person who thinks the U.S saved Europe 3 times. In World War One you entered the war late on and were not needed. In World War Two, it was the Soviets who dealt BY FAR the greatest toll on Germany. Also, you started the cold war, so without you we would have been fine, because the war would never have happened.

I'm having trouble of thinking what the USA did over 100 years ago. I mean in country terms, you guys are still young really.

Besides Britain has done sh!t loads in the last hundred years, in fact we had a little thing called the British empire, the height of which was about 100 years ago, you may have heard of it.

It must have been cause I dont remember it

Well here's a history lesson, it covered 1/4 of the worlds land, had 1/4 of the world population and the mojority of the worlds resources. It was pretty big.

I love how some people in here are talking about the British Empire as if it was a good thing!

There were bad points, ofcourse. No-one is denying that, but there were more good points than bad. If you want me to list, please ask.
