Microsoft=Most Evil Aggressive Sony=Most Childish Nintendo=Profit Hungry |
Fixed. They saw weaknesses and exploited them. In retalitiation, Sony sat back and got scraped.
Nintendo is all sales. Gamers can't play sales.

I can agree, but you'll be calling Microsoft evil when they thrash Sony mercilessly.
|
I hope you are speaking generally, because I won't call MS evil. I have a 360.
Microsoft already thrashed Sony mercilessly, and I enjoyed it. Sony's arrogant reign over the VG market went on for too long, and their cockiness in a position of power was ripped from their grasp and their portfolio was shredded. The 360 proved the PS brand was human, and now Sony is desperate for any sense of headway in this generation, that includes preserving the Wii/DS is for kids stereotype and Ultra-hype of normal exclusives (Killzone 2). Sony is gasping for air with its panties down.

I have a 360 myself, but I still believe Microsoft as a company is evil. I detatch myself from comapnies, so it keeps to sale of me buying their systems proper and business as usual. It also causes me to neutral and judge companies fairly. As far as Greenberg is concerned, the fight hasn't even started yet. Microsoft is just riding out 2009. They haven't thrashed Sony very much. You cannot let Microsoft see blood.

Whatever does the last statement mean? For someone who considers himself "detached" you sure seem suckered into PR talk and internet console wars. M$ is not "evil". Competition actually benefits consumers at the end of the day. They do their best to compete in this industry. They are also a business under a capitalist doctrine. Moves that don't "make money" aren't plausible lest we forget that since Bill has all those "funds".
Sony sells PCs. Thats right, they partner with M$ in other endeavors. Surprise!!! This is PR to feed "fanboys". I can't imagine they intended to sell more consoles with this information. Most are usually aimed at game journalists and those who read too much kotaku. There's a reason this "stuff" doesn't appear on mainstream news.
|
What PR am I suckered into exactly? I'm stating that if you've seen Microsoft in action with their many class-action lawsuits you will know that they play the nice guy first and then when they destroy the competition the legal system has to get involved. Microsoft as a corporation is not exactly ethical. They are anti-competition and the courts have not been able to stop them because they are so damn powerful. Microsoft is just as evil as AT&T. I live in America where competition is supposed to be encouraged, but there are companies like Microsoft that don't want to play by the rules. AT&T will be the last man standing as far as Cable TV, All forms of phones are all concerned. Microsoft will continue to have a monopoly on retrail OS. Sony making PC's means nothing to me, because they need Microsoft's OS to interest streamline PC buyers anyway.

I don't think "buying competition out" = "destruction" and if a competitor folds due to "competition", it's really too bad for them. I live in the US as well and I hate capitalism because I think it's the root cause of the vast majority of humanity's problems today. That aside, I look at it from a consumer standpoint because I don't own stock in any corporation. From a consumer perspective, I don't see thier actions causing significant harm and if/when they do, we still retain the right to refuse their products. Till then, all's pretty much fair in a system that was never fair to begin with.
Same goes for AT&T, as long as bills don't increase, it doesn't really affect consumers.
