I think a plus side of these press conferences could be that they STOP making celebrities out of Nintendo executives. Really people, STOP calling them by their first name. Enough of this Reggie talk!

Sorry JT some of the people on here just want to kill. They don't even bother to hear everything. Sarcasm is not understandable by all unless they know you.

If your Avatar was like Mario or some junk I think they would have recognized the joke.

Anyway, I read the whole thing and I agree with you 100%.

Expectations can kill good things, like toothpaste kills orange juice.

Announced Wii motion + and new wii sports. Its just that peoples expectations prior to E3 were ridicilously high. Its not that MS or Sony had better conferences.

 

      I'm pretty sure both Microsoft and Sony had better conferences.

     Microsoft showed Gears of War 2 (even if you're not a big Gears fan like I am not, you still have to admit that that "I have a rendezvous with Death." trailer and poem were both awesome!), Resident Evil 5, Fallout 3, and had the announcement of the entire show in Final Fantasy XIII coming to the 360.

     Sony had Resistance 2, Little Big Planet, Killzone 2, MAG, Resistance Retribution, God of War III first trailer, and Infamous.

     Wii had Animal Crossing, Wii Sports Resort, and Wii Music. 

I dont know, Wii Motion Plus is a big novelty that was announced at the E3. With microsoft games everyone knew that they arleady coming on the system (apart from FF XIII Mutiplat) so i wasnt that impressed. Same with Sony this all were projects that the public was aware of, and expected at E3.

For me Motion Plus and GTA on the DS were as big as the rest of the show, but thats just personal opinion.

Yeah but the Wii MotionPlus was announced an hour prior to the Microsoft press conference and a day before Nintendo's so it wasn't that big of a surprise and really heightened expectations of games they were gonna show that would have 1:1 motion control. We got Wii Sports 2.

So it was an anti climax.. Also for me, I couldn't have cared less about the DS last year, this year I'm excited at what they may show though..

Should be a solid E3, sales talk, full Wii Sports Resort reveal, new casual title for the holidays, Pikmin 3, Fire Emblem is now 80% likely and their other Q3 and Q4 titles along with third party titles. So should be a good show.

i personally liked it, not as 2007 but still liked it

Animal Crossing is awesome, i enjoy Wii Music even more, Wario Land was great, all 3 titles sold and are still salling, and the best - Wii Sports Resort is still coming, why so negative?



don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

E3 2008 was probably the worst E3 of all time, capped by the mediocre to awful Conferences by all 3 hardware vendors.

E3 is pretty much dead now, from a gaming fan's point of view. I just hope something steps up to fill the void.

If that's the case, then they failed miserably.

After the conference, and when Nintendo realised they had screwed up big time, Nintendo tried to make that same excuse.

Thing is, every single person that saw it, thought it was total crap. 

I doubt you could find anyone who thought otherwise.  Anyone...
