Forums - Microsoft - Would you prefer your Xbox360 to have Blu-ray?

Honestly, somewhere in the back of your head, would you prefer/wished if your Xbox360 had Blu-ray since the beginning?  Just the feeling to know your system is with the latest format and gives a complete HD experience.  Or are you completely content with your Xbox360 (whichever model) straight out of the box?

I have a few friends that own a Xbox360, sure they love the XBL experience and the library of games, but they also wished it also had Blu-ray .  Just curious if alot (or little) of you Xbox360 owners feel the same way? Thoughts?

Can't say that I would.

I wouldnt say I would have preferred it as it would have made the Xbox much more expensive to produce and therefore a much poorer choice as a mainstream gaming system.

However if it was a token cost increase (say 5 percent of total) I wouldn't mind having it.

That said my family get HD movies via other sources and with me not being much of a film buff the media side is not at all missed.

It would be fairer to say I wish all X box's had come with HDD as standard then we could just install the game and the media size would not be a constraint in any way.

If they could have done it without increasing the cost and downgrading multiplatform games to PS3 level, sure why not?

Sure if it cost peanuts I would.. I wouldnt wanna shell out $100+ though for a feature I can live without. Blu ray would be cool if the discs werent so overpriced. until they hit DVD levels I'll gladly live with the rest of the world in 480p

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

I've never used my game consoles as DVD/HD-DVD/Blu-Ray players as I've always preferred dedicated players.  That being the case, my 360 DOES give me a complete HD gaming experience...exactly what I bought it for - hooray!

if the price was the same than way not there's no Down fall to having it

I don't even put DVD's or CD's into my consoles much, anymore. I even cancelled my Netflix subscription. The last Blu-ray I bought was The Dark Knight. As long as my video game systems play video games, I'm happy.

No because I wouldn't have bought the 360 if it was more expensive.
