Maybe I should just ask you for YOUR definition of "trolling".  It seems many people have many different definitions.

Its bad form to call someone a troll unless one honestly feels they meet a generally accepted definition of the word:

Obviously many people over several continents and cultures, over various online coummuties, over years, agree about Mike.  That said, you don't need to of course.

So you admit to trolling at Amigaworld.net because "Wegster had it coming"?????

Criticism is not the same as trolling. I provided mildly worded criticism, without pointing fingers to specific persons at the time. I also suggested many improvements, so IMO constructive criticism. The definition of a troll I wrote down for AmigaWorld was:

"Troll: Trolls show no respect for other people's opinions and deliberately crafts messages to provoke others with the intention of wasting their time and energy or just to cause anger and confrontations. There is no point in arguing with them; their minds are made up. Ignore them, and report the posts immediately to an Amigaworld Team Member. Repeat offenders may incur an instant banned."

Name calling, personal attacks, dragging topics off topic, etc are IMO common trades of trolls, Guilding Light fits this description perfectly for me. So I decide to leave him ignored. You are now bordering to suit this definition as well. As you ignore everything that was clarified and keep posting stuff like:

You really are shameful.

At least let us know who you are exactly, so I and others can determine if you're really just a troll or not.

Honest criticism conveyed civilly is not trolling.  But you certainly "crafts messages to provoke others with the intention of wasting their time and energy or just to cause anger and confrontations".  In that exchange with Wegster (and others) for instance, with your "wasn't me" garbage.  And yet everyone there knew exactly what game you were playing and you got called on it by two mods.  You don't need to be a vulgar child cursuing to be a troll.

As far as the common trades of trolls, yes many are unsophisticated as I just mentioned.  Thats not your M.O. Mike.  Its clear you take a lot of pride in it as as craft.  And experienced VG Chartz members have certainly spoken on how you are actually quite good at being a stealth troll, never resorting to swearing etc.  But over time the list of reasonable people who immediately dismiss you at any given site you participate at just gets longer and longer dosen't it?  How far can the conspiracy you try to paint possibly go?  When this keeps happening, what goes through your mind?  You claim to "self-reflect" after all.

As for your "clarifications", man you have many stories to tell don't you?  Because the list of people describing you negativlely is very long.  As I mentioned before, I am sure not all of them are saints.  But I can see with my own eyes what you write, where your "sources" are, how you twist data, how you omitt data, how you don't answer certain things when proven wrong, some of the horribly unqualified statements you make, only to spew (quite eloquently of course) the same BS again later in some other thread etc.  And the proof is in the pudding, unconnected reasonable folks keep coming to the same conclusions independently.  Fancy that!

I know you'd love to shift the discussion on to me.  I'm not banned anywhere.  I've never been banned anywhere.  I've never been warned of possibly being banned anywhere.  And the only person ever to accuse me of trolling is you, because your defense of yourself is thin.  What exactly do you want?  My name and address?

Although I disagree with you more often than not, I still respect the fact that you don't resort to name calling and insults in your arguments.

Thanks.

I've never felt that you would openly lie or intentionally deceive.

I do my best.

To be more complete here is some more information regarding my take on what happened over the years based on what I have been told and personal experience.

In addition there have been other issues, I was once part of the Phoenix Developer Consortium. At a time Gateway owned Amiga's assets, they partnered with QNX Software Systems to use QNX Neutrino at the core of a new Amiga operating system. Sadly due to Gateway being a PC maker, Microsoft pressured them to kill the project (PC manufacturers get discounts on Windows, they wouldn't get them anymore which would cost them many millions, this is what Amiga's CTO claimed but is in line with Gateway testimonials regarding the antitrust case against Microsoft by a former CEO of the company later on).

Out of the ashes rised the Phoenix Developer Consortium with the QSSL's CEO Dan Dodge as one of the key members. But after my meeting with him, I came to the conclusion he wasn't all that committed to the project and I passed my findings to the rest of the consortium, some of the consortium members got upset and believed I was lying, but it turned out to be correct. Many of the phoenix group would later turn towards Thendic (/later Genesi) or Hyperion.

The only interesting indirect Amiga product which came from the dealing of QNX with the Amiga community was AmigaOS XL by Haage & Partner (probably one of the most hated companies amongst the former Phoenix Group developers). It was an interesting emulation platform though, basically running a classic AmigaOS environment on top of QNX Realtime platform. It had some interesting features such as within the adapted QNX OS it would suddenly have an Amiga-like title bar, with which you simply clicked a button to switch to AmigaOS (and vice versa), you could also launch QNX apps from AmigaOS and vice versa. But alledgedly H&P, failed to pay royalties for AmigaOS 3.9 usages to Amiga Inc and pay one key developer of Amithlon.

That's just a small snip of a very long story, but illustrates why there is some bad blood amongst certain ex-Amiga developers / supporters. It's really a complex and extensive story. Just reading the court documents of the various lawsuits and their allegations will make your head spin. Even I'm a bit out of loop by now.

In the end most issues regarded people taking sides or money/IP related disputes. I got caught in the middle mostly as I wanted to help push the AmigaOS4 project forward which is now at a pretty advanced state, but there's still a long way to go:

Long story, I would be happy to discuss privately. But basically being a physical therapist best suits me for various reasons.

@ Thread

I understand that Moobunny is linking to this thead, thus an influx of new trolls. Please ignore.

Matt Sealey is (was?) Developer Relations Manager for Genesi USA, Inc on Moobunny:

"Quiet Hans-Joerg who doesn't talk to anybody, and Loud Thomas who must reply to everything posted on the subject of AmigaOS 4.x - but it's plain to see that neither know what the hell they are talking about."

I support Amiga OS4, such issues of rivalry dates back from way back in the 90s, WarpOS vs PowerUp when I wasn't involved at all.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

Did anyone at any point in time actually post any benchmarks? There are too many easy to overlook variables.

In fact I remain unconvinced that with either system the optical drive would be a bottleneck in any sanely programmed game.

How did all these Amiga guys come in to a VGC thread all of a sudden?

Troll topic? Really we all knew that its 6.8 and guess what games are being put on PS3 blue ray, a 50 gig disc with 6.8 being used.

Apparently, you all DIDN't know the size limit is 6.8GB, if you look at the first and second pages.  BTW, NO company would use a 50GB BD for 6.8GB of data.  Also, you are forgeting that some devs use that extra space on multiplatform games for 7.1 LPCM audio like Fallout 3.
