The last time we had a discussion like this, we ended up concluding that there must be two different AC games in the works, but until we get some more info, this thing is completely up in the air.

Nope that's not a new trend.
If you look at things like The Force Unleashed or CoD they tend to be developed for as many platforms as possible often with big diffrences beetween version.
And if game shares 6 platforms chances are versions other than big HD trio are junk.

@Zlejedi: I wasn't thinking about those big multi-plat franchises which end up on every system anyway. It was just a bit surprising to see two HD-only games (besides PC) getting PSP versions but not Wii versions.
Maybe Sony has been handing out some money or they lowered PSP licensing fees? Koller's statements in one of the links above seem to imply that they specifically approached 3rd parties on PSP development.

PSP >> WII
Wii owners keep begging for hd games, but the one who gets it is the PSP
But war... war never changes
NJ5, you also forgot to mention new Army of Two for PSP. No Wii version either.
| NJ5 said: @Star Scream: So why will it be called Assassin's Creed 2? That doesn't make sense... either Koller is wrong or the game's producer (speaking at a later time) is wrong. |
It's probably the same thing with Ghostbusters Wii. It's going to share some story but the game itself is completely different.

So that's three games, including two by EA. Even if this is not a trend that's already a significant number.
@outlawauron: Could be that way as well. Anyway it doesn't make a big difference, the more important point is about shared games even when they're not exact ports.

Ah ok then :) But after AC 1 sales it probably joined those ultra big franchises anyway.
As for rest I think explanation is lot simplier- classic controls on PSP.
Then again lack of idea for good quality motion control on Wii is last reason I can think about which could stop companies like Ubisoft/Activision/EA from releasing it (those guys have shovelware and cheap ports as their life motto)

Or maybe they just think that a Wii port wont sell enough to be worth it..?
