I thought that Assassin's Creed game was going to be a "real" PSP version instead of a port?

Assassin’s Creed 2 will be available on PS3, X360, PC and also on PSP. I am in charge of the PC, X360 and PS3 versions. Assassin’s Creed 2 will be released during Holiday 2009.

And where does it say PSP version will be a port?

It says Assassin's Creed 2 will be available on the PSP, so the PSP game is probably not a spin-off of the franchise or an entirely different game.

You're just speculating, while Koller already went on record and said Assassin's Creed PSP will be ' a completely different game, unique to the PSP.'

 

I have no reason not to believe him, it's his reputation on the line.

To be quite honest, in Japan, it seems that Wii and PSP are developing a multiplat relationship. Sometimes the PS2 is in there, but that system is in retirement times.

So why will it be called Assassin's Creed 2? That doesn't make sense... either Koller is wrong or the game's producer (speaking at a later time) is wrong.

That producer also said he was only working on PS3/360/PC version of the game, didn't he?

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

@Star Scream: Yes, but what does that have to do with the PSP game being or not being Assassin's Creed 2? Often different teams are used for different platforms.
