Forums - General - Do you think 24 jumped the shark? (Even by 24 standards) ***Spoilers***

I've been able to suspend my disbelief during the previous seasons but this season I find it has reached new heights of absurdity.  First the whole White House plot seemed pretty far fetched (an enemy head of state being able to break into the White House from underground?!?).  And now the whole Starkwood storyline has even surpassed it in ridiculousness.

I haven't seen this week's episode but I have a feeling that it won't be any better.  How is it that such a big budget award winning show has such amazingly bad writing?  With all the talent in Hollywood it's hard to believe they couldn't have put together a much better season.  I think I'm disappointed because the first episode of the season made it look like were trying to make it a little more realistic.

So what's your opinion of this season?

tbh, its 24, its about action and real time and it does both superbly, sure the plots are kind of out there, but it entertains me, i ask little more of it than that.

You're right, I'm probably expecting too much from it.

I thought last season was terrible, with Jack's own family being the terrorists......oh come on.
This year, i feel the show gets better as it goes along. The first few episodes weren't great, but this season is slowly growing on me.
