Forums - Nintendo - Punch out!! New mode confirmed, fans will be glad!

A- This is their big title for the 1st half of this year, excitebots doesn't even have a PAL release date yet.

B- Stretching the game out with this new technique is awesome, they knew the complaints regarding the "remade faithful recreation" would be a negative and they addressed it.

C- Jimmy Fallon and G4 playing nice with Wii

D- Balance board support is f---ng cool

E- All other boxing games have frankly sucked, people who don't want this after playing the other crap cartoony style games either are HD fanboys or too young to know what they're missing.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

also balance board support is confirmed. does that improve things WoW?

If motion control is merely replacing a button press then it's waggle and doesn't impress me.

If motion control is genuinely adding something new to the experience that I feel would be lost in switching back to a standard controller then it does.

For example, I see Warioware and I see a game that couldn't have been nearly as fun without the motion control.  I look at the "core" titles and can't say the same.  That's what I think but for some people, the ability to jump and dodge might be that "something new" and make it great.   For others, the Wii Wheel in Mario Kart Wii was that "something new." Neither is wrong or somehow more correct than the other.  Just different strokes for different folks.

Huh.

Sonuvabitch, that's awesome.

awesome!

I don't understand why they would wanna keep this mode under wraps. It's a huge selling point.

Like the article said, the real game doesn't even begin until you win the title.

It is called E3. All the core people who are paying attention to the news will be watching E3. When they announce this everyone will go crazy and worship the ground that Nintendo walks on.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
