Forums - General - Did Miss California lose because of her opinion on gay marriage?

Well, most people start to remember and start thinking better at the age of 3. and you don't really hear anything because I doubt a 3-5 year old will say anything about liking the same sex. I never did. But growing up was akward. I was told (not really me but that is what a lot of people said) that boys should like girls and I didn't. I was 3 and didn't like them. oh well, I was born this way. I never chose to be gay. I never decided to live a harsh life where people kinda like you want to restrict my rights. I want to be equal to you starcraft!

You're equal to me Bacon. You're just less satisfied with that.

FYI, I didn't like girls when I was three either...

The meat argument is ridiculous.

But it is still more relevant to this debate than the race argument.

Why? Most people who are gay are born that way. Probably well over 90%. I have never met a gay person who has chosen to be gay.

I've never seen any credibly evidence supporting the notion that 0-5 year olds are emphatically gay or straight...

I use to kiss my male friend when I was 5 in kindergarten. Does that count? Nah, my antedoctal evidence is probably useless to you. I didn't even consider it gay or straight back then because I had no concept of what was 'normal'.

I was born bisexual, but I denied the part of me that liked dudes because of society, it told me guys are supposed to like girls only.

Yeah, but I liked boys when I was 3. and you are wrong. We are not equals yet. I DO have LESS rights and benefits then you do because of how I was born. It's just not fair and I'll never understand why the government treats me like I'm a 2nd class citizen. I hope the future will be better, and by future, I mean within 10 years.

She's very pretty!

Don't worry, just take a look at the improvements made in the last 10 years

the next 10 will probably even be better!

Thanks for that! But, the U.S./Ohio hasn't done it yet.

Yeah that's really unfortunate. All I can tell you is that the world (at least the west) is getting less ignorant each day, so maybe soon.

You seriously think that comparing civil rights movements to civil rights movements is irrelevant, while comparing gay marriage to veganism is relevant but ridiculous?

Of course you've never seen any credible evidence if you've never looked for it.

I was completely disgusted by girls at age 3, because they had cooties, but it was obvious that I was straight because I didn't think boys had cooties.  Boys were neutral to me.  If you really think that nobody is aware of their sexuality at age 3, go ask 10 people when they first realized they liked girls or boys, and see how many of them say 2, 3, 4, or 5.  Anything later is some serious denial.

I didnt say that veganism was relevant.  I said it was more relevant.  Given how little relevance race has to this debate, you can consider them both irrelevant.

When I was 6 I felt my mates balls as a matter of routine.  Given my straight nature, I'd say it turned out to be largely irrelevant, along the same lines as most of the points you've made in this thread.
