Forums - General - Did Miss California lose because of her opinion on gay marriage?

It's so sickening this unfreedom of speech because of liberals and their forced political correctness.

And it's so much worse in Sweden.

Liberals have fascist thinking really.

i think that question was too sensitive to ask at a beauty pageant, people are split over gay marriage, she was bound to piss people off, no matter what her answer was, so i think the guy who asked her the question screwed up.

Well, he was a gay guy trying to put forth his own agenda, so maybe his question should have been disqualified.  However, since it is the politically correct or media thing to do to support every liberal stance under the sun, all that mattered was she said no to it and went against the liberal / politically correct / hollywood stance on it and lost as a result.

Behind the scenes they'll tell her that to make any real money in the entertainment industry she will have to support that agenda, so she will be all for it in the next sixth months if she hasn't already announced that she's changed her mind on the matter.

i know he had his own agenda, but using this girl for his own agenda was a dick move, anyways gay marriage should be allowed though, if 2 adults want to get married it is their life, let them, the goverment or religion should not interfere with that.

i am just pissed off at this hilton dude, serioulsly i dont like his face :P

Marriage is supposed to be a sacred (meaning based on religious principles) thing.  Therefore, if a man and man want to get married, then they should be able to bring out some recognized holy book that says men getting married is an acceptable thing.  If they can't produce recognized holy scripture that says it is alright for men to marry men or women to marry women, then they shouldn't be allowed to get married.

On, the other hand I do believe in domestic partner benefits.

Of course somone could argue that such a ceremony should not be part of the US government.

I was floored," Hilton told ABCNews.com Monday. "I haven't said this before, but to her credit, I applaud her for her honesty. However, she is not a politician, she's a hopeful Miss USA. Miss USA should represent everyone. Her answer alienated millions of gay and lesbian Americans, their families and their supporters."

Huh?

There you go...

LOL...she basically said that she was raised on those values.

That's the definition of brain washing.

So it's your opinion that parents should not teach them values?

People get their beliefs from their enviroments.

It's called socilization.

Have you gotten any beleifs from your parents?  Did they brainwash you too?

No. I analyze my surroundings in order to find moderation and core universal values. Not primitive inhereted values.

Cogito ergo sum, bitch! :/

Most of you have been brain washed to be for non-traditional marriage. You are brainwashed by all the media you consume that is fantasy made to look like real life.

Brainwashed to think that those that think different from you are dumb and bigoted from your small exclusive cliques that you belong to.

She lost because she made a mistake.

The show is about impressing the most people and pissing off the fewest.  No one cares what the contestant's true feelings are.  People only want the canned answers that make them happy.

Jim Carrey and Morgan Freeman hit the point perfectly in the movie Bruce Almighty with this conversation:

God: I want you to pray son.  Go ahead.  Use it.
Bruce Nolan:  Lord, feed the hungry, and bring peace to all mankind.  How was that?
God:  Great... if you want to be Miss America.  Now what do you really care about?

Wow GamingChartzFTW, you really have an elitistic view on humans.

PC slavery.

Well, when was marriage recognized as part of the US government?   Mainly the only political ramifications that I know involving marriage have to do with paying taxes and dividing up someone's property when they're dead.  A person's property should be given to whom they want it to go to when they're dead, and they should have to pay whaetever taxes they're supposed to when alive.

You know, there's a reason why the majority of people are "PC slaves"
