What? There's several on the site (at least from Norway).
I know one other thing though. I was part of designing my school's webpage, and know that there are absolutely no adds there. Yet this site claims there's an average earning 36 dollars/day.
... Honestly, I'd put too much trust in this. |
I am looking hard at Nintendo.com (nintendo of america) and I see no ads... Are you on Nintendo of Europes website?

I would think that it would be worth more than that.

Not niche. it is in the 1000's in alexa ranking, compared to VGChartz in the 8000's. That translates to a far, far greater amount of hits to JumpTheShark... which means JumpTheShark would be worth a lot more then this website.

Ah damn already more than half the value of this site is lost in half a day!
Brett should have taken my advice and sold this site earlier today! Who could predict such a fall?
Besides me of course.

Do non-Nintendo published games on their site count as 'ads'? Just taking a quick look at the Wii homepage only 1 of the 6 'latest games' are Nintendo games... ???
|
I don't think so for a few reasons.
1) most big websites will say in tiny letters (advertisement) near advertisements. This isn't always the case, but whatever.
2) does every 3rd party have to pay to get on their list of games? I don't think so even though Nintendo is "advertising" their games. They have 100's of games across the DS and Wii listed.
3) it is in the best interest of Nintendo to provide a source that Nintendo owners can visit to gain information about games available on their systems. All games get the same/similar treatment so with the exception of 1st party games which are typically the cover for the Wii and DS game lists. However, I do think they will not add a game unless a 3rd party submits the information to them, as their list on their website is incomplete a lot of times.
4) if they are ads, then they do an excellent job of making them look like they are not ads and blending perfectly with the website.

Erm, analyze much??? It was a brief and flickering thought about an impression from looking at their Wii page for all of 5 seconds... :P ...but, for the record and after another quick look, links like this make me suspicious: http://www.nintendo.com/leaving?destination=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.southpeakgames.com%2Findex.php%3Fgame%3DRoogoo%2520Twisted%2520Towers&platform=NintendoWii Why use a redirect in this manner if you're not attempting to take credit for a page hit???
|
hey, I may have analyzed but I didn't inspect URL redirects
Actually, I go there pretty much every week, and have always thought they didn't have ads for those reasons. As for the redirect, I don't know much about redirects, but that doesn't look like the kind that gives credit, and more like the "hey we popped up a generic window, when you click yes I now know where to go" link. I could be really wrong though.

What a load of crap that website is. According to them VGchartz makes 25% of the total that Gamershell.com does. http://www.websiteoutlook.com/www.gamershell.com
Just for the few that don't really know the difference in traffic between the two. Imagine the gap being bigger then the grand canyon and you travel on foot. Linky:http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/vgchartz.com+gamershell.com
