Forums - Gaming - Grand Slam Tennis not an original IP

Yep, I just found it out: http://www.ittybittycomputers.com/Essays/Tennis.html

It was also available, 26 years ago, on the *aheemmm* Emerson Arcadia 2001

See the graphics:

Please notice that the lack of opponent its not a glitch. The console couldn't handle the luxury of 2 characters at the same time on screen. So you got to play against an invisible wall.

/sarcasm

So, the Wii version is a remake. EA fooled us with their new IP talking. Just to milk us.

You really, really, really, really, really realy lealrelaelrlarlelaelraelraelr

...need a sarcasm detector. You accuse people of trolling all the time when they're not. :P

Anyways, Wii owners should be glad that the Wii is at least powerful enough to support a port over from the Emerson Arcadia 2001. I wonder if it will have any degraded features or if it will retain the same quality. I suppose we'll have to wait for reviews and comparison articles.

Yeah look at the shadow the ball (or is it the racket) projects on the floor. I don't think the Wii can pull that off.

My Mario Kart Wii friend code: 2707-1866-0957

I just got a shinny new sarcasm detector. It will prevent situations like this in the future hopefully.

What I really want them to port over the Wii version badly is the Desert Green Hill stadium like the one presented on the screenshot above. All green till the infinite.

I also heard that the blue net has been removed in favor of a black solid line as the Wii is not capable of displaying more than four colors at a time. It was either that or take out the black shadow of the ball and the developers thought that would take away from the realism a little too much.

And as far as we see, there's a second character to play with us in the Wii remake. YAY =D

Emerson Arcadia 2001 whores are dying in rage now :B

Oh wow, I hadn't even noticed that. Dynamic shadowing effects that can double as a racket and a ball at the same time? There's no way in hell the Wii can handle that. Even real life isn't advanced enough yet to handle single shadows that can be projected from many different objects at the same time.

Seriously, the one shadow originating from both the ball and the racket indipendently and at existing at the same time? Now that's advanced.
