Forums - Microsoft - New Xbox360 Disc Protections? Bans to follow?

As a proud Game Supporter I say... "Pirates deserve to be shot Shot!"

Do people who pirate even realize they are ruining the industry that even provides the enjoyment they enjoy so much they feel they must steal it? I'm not against modding a sytem so that you can play a region locked game on your system as long as you actually are buying the game and not making fake games. If you going to pirate though I hope you you get what you deserve jail time or even better give 'em the death penalty! I'm down with that. :D

How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

I wasn't aware piracy was a problem on the 360. Oh well, ban them! BAN THEM ALL!

yeah its pretty bad.

A 2 minute search on a certain site yielded 6 pages of torrents of 360 ISOs, and for another HD system there were hardly any.

The amount of rips sold in flea marlets and dodgy shops worldwide must be staggering, so I'm hoping that MS can get this problem under control.

Those who want to pirate games will find a way to do it. It happened to the ps1, ps2 and now x360 and wii. Something tells me that online play is the least of these people's worries.

Just for perspective from a particular private torrent site that i'm on, the most pirated PC game on the site is assassin's creed, at 153,xxx downloads. By comparison, the most pirated x360 game, gta4 is at 22,xxx downloads if you combine pal and ntsc.

By the way, those numbers are for completed downloads.

Banning isn´t solution. Most pirates do not use Live much, so is rather pointless.

I'm sure Microsoft could include a self destruct mechanism pretty easily...

Haha! I was actually thinking about putting that in my above post, but didn't have the heart.

Well played.

One of the biggest problems with piracy on this platform is the fact that many games are "leaked" onto the scene weeks before release.

Not only does this effect the games sales on this platform, but on others as well.

I am sure that in some cases pirated versions tally up to more than the actual game sales!

That would probably help a lot.

City: Most of these versions are from reviewers or some people from compay itself. It shouln´t be too hard to take care of these cases.

RRoD maybe an M$ intention defect to prevent piracy.
