I'm a massive Sony fan, and I still have to agree with you on this.
XBL is still a better service than PSN. Obviously, they get 75 million bucks a month from subscribers to pour into improving it!
I'd rather have free PSN than paid XBL.

too many buttons to keep track of lol. Seriously, I do hate how I have to pay for XBL and the P2P network because I have gotten screwed a lot while playing halo3 online just because I was not host.

If you like FPS and TPS, you are set with the 360 and its exclusives/multiplats. Nothing beats Halo 3, Gears of War 1&2, and CoD series when it comes to the shooter genre.
Unless you have a real need for a blu-ray player and really want some of the PS3 exclusives, I wouldn't recommend the purchase.
