Forums - Nintendo - First Excitebots reviews.

I'm not expecting it to get awesome reviews after what reviewers did to Excite Truck... I am, however, expecting it to be truckloads(or botloads?) of fun!

Around the Network

Its a pro when races are never boring but a con when the game gets crazy. Adults can be such wankers about fun

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I'm not too worried about it. Excite Truck averaged a 72 and I still love that game.

When is the game going to be released in Europe? Nintendo is seriously having the habit of letting the Europeans wait for so long.

Lately it's been the other way around with Disaster releasing only in Japan/Europe, and Fatal Frame having higher chances of releasing in Europe than NA.

Fatal Frame isn't going to be released in Europe, release dates have all been removed and been exchanged by to be announced. Comparing to what you Americans getting sooner than we in Europe, a crappy game like Disaster doesn't do any good for all the waiting the Europeans have to go through.

Either way there were at least plans for Fatal Frame for Europe. It might come under tecmo, or another publisher.

The last games to be released by Nintendo for wii and their release dates in each region.

New Play Control! Mario Power Tennis- Japan- Jan 15- Eu-March 6- NA-March 9

New Play Control! Donkey Kong Jungle Beat- Japan-December 11,2008 Other Regions it has yet to be released.

New Play Control! Metroid Prime- Japan-February 19, 2009

New Play Control! Pikmin- Japan- Dec 25,2008  Europe March 6- Na March 9

Disaster: Day of Crisis- Japan-September 25, 2008 02008-10-24Europe-Oct 24 NA- None

Mario Super Sluggers- Japan- June 19 2008  Europe 2008 NA August 25 2008

Mario Kart Wii- Japan- April 10, 2008 Europe 02008-04-11 April 11, 2008 North America 02008-04-27 April 27, 2008

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Japan Janurary 31 2008, Europe June 27, 2008 North America 02008-03-09 March 9, 2008

Wii Music Japan- October 16, 2008 Europe-November 14, 2008 North America-October 20, 2008

I believe those are all the retail Nintendo published releases in the last year for the Wii. Now lets look at the results.

How many released earlier in EU? 4/13

How many released earlier in NA? 4/13

How many didn't release in EU, but did in NA. 0/13

How many didn't release in NA, but did in EU. 1/13

How many are Japan only so far. 4/13

Going by these results, Nintendo has been treating Europe actually better than North America as of lately. They still treat Japan by far the best though. Also if you want, I could go and show you the release dates for future releases too.

Also some games you can't blame Nintendo or any Developer for taking so long to bring to Europe. One thing they have to do is translate the game to multiple languages. Another thing they have to do is make sure it fits the policy of each country it is being sold in. They don't have these problems in NA or Japan. In Japan, most of the time it is the native language so they don't have to translate it, but if they do it is only 1 language to translate to. In NA, it is only 1 language to translate to. Also you only need to fit the policy of one country for Japan, and two for NA.

Nintendo may have treated Europe bad before, but now they are treated just as good as North America. Other developers on the otherhand, need to catch up.

How sad, you have to wait a few weeks longer than us, boohoo... shall I name up games which are being released in the US while we have to wait for "months", years or never got them? The list will be endless.

Agreed, its without a doubt still the best racer... and for that the only decent race available on the Wii.

@Onna76 If they are Nintendo games on the Wii, then please go and find me some. Seriously you argued that Nintendo doesn't treat EU fair, and I argue that they are the publisher that probably treats EU the best out of all publishers. Now if you go and show me tons of RPGs from third party publishers, how does that support your claim?

I don't even want to find them because I find this discussion to be utterly pathetic.

GamePro likes fun not.

I don't really care about reviews for this game, the first one was great and underrated and i know this one will be better.
