I'm with kasz on this one.
It seems that Stringer wasn't fully allowed to do business the way he wanted to and that this crisis has allowed him to hack away at useless bits of Sony and to try and streamline it again.
AFAIK: GO stringer!

This. From what I've read about Sony's restructuring, Stringer carries the least blame for Sony's late reaction.
